ATENTION. ATENTION...... All hands on deck.... all ranks including officers.... Now hear this, January web site funding met and slightly exceeded target.. not time to be complacent though, lets see if we can meet a target of 28 donations for Feb. Note membership rising fast nearly 30 new members joined in January, please support the site by donating, I appreciate not everyone has available funds but "those who can should" Thanks shipmates.... At ease Allen R
Hi Rob, They look great your attention to detail is amazing, with this in mind I wonder if you had considered working fire monitors?, from one of your last posts I seem to remember your brother is good with a lathe, keep up the good work it is so interesting, I hope one day to have a go at this build when SWMBO decides to release a bit of cash !!!! Thanks for a great blog with great ideas, Allen R
I've been busy with calculations this morning and ended up totally disheartened maybe to the point of digging out those ropes I spoke about the other day.......... 24 donations is equal to point 636% of our total membership..... I'm not impressed.....🤐🤐🤐🤐😤
Good morning shipmates, I detect a little breeze in the air this morning, another donation, thanks No 24, lets see if over the weekend we can turn this little breeze into a wind we maybe lucky and double the January target, remember every little helps as the fat lady said, as she peed in the ocean!
Although that's good Stephen, we still need donations coming in to build up a reserve fund, its not time yet for members to sit back in their deck chairs, keep donating 22 out of 3775 is not a big effort is it, I ask you, come on dig deep me hearties..........
All's quiet on the donation front today, we must be in the doldrums come on lets have another sudden storm and liven things up a bit, all hands on deck sorry I mean in pockets. I know times are hard after Christmas but if anyone think things are so bad do let me know, I do have a few lengths of rope with nooses already tied, name and address and I will send you one complete with instructions but always remember things are never as bad as they seem every cloud has a silver lining, please, please donate. Thanks to all who are already on board....
14 donations to web site management fund so far, lets keep it going, we are on a roll, target 31 or more by the end of January, come on me hearties dig deep, but be carefull you don't do a Robert Maxwell !!
Hi Cliff I think you must have been very unlucky not to get your problems solved by email, I can understand not getting much joy on the phone I think the guy who runs the site has a full time job and only operates the site as a hobby and service to fellow model makers even for a few small glitches now and then it's still great value for money, if it were a business you can bet subscriptions could be £25 or more per annum and if you didn't pay you would not get access so overall I recon we do very well.
Must say I'm disapointed with the response to my appeal for web site funding to improve, feel like I might do a Robert Maxwell and go overboard, that wont happen though as I am going to keep embarssing you all with my comments, come on shipmates get your fingers from up your bums and do a donation via Paypal......
Come on I know ships and boats should be water tight and so should ducks backsides but there's no need for sailors and model boat builders to be the same, come on lads see to the website maintenance fund, where else can you get all this support and advice for next to nothing ????????????
Come on all you sailors show your apreciation for our new improved web site, I look this morning and still only a miserable 7 donations for January, lets make it a super month and improve that number, target 31 or more that equates to one a day, yep my maths isnt bad but everything else is debatable!!!!!! Allen R
Hi Ian, Thanks for that but I think I will have to pass at that as her indoors won't let me spend more than £300 on "The Hobby" as she puts it and on top of that I would have to quietly treat my brother for borrowing his car to come for it! Good luck I hope someone has a go it would be a shame for it to go to waste. I hope your illness is not to bad and you can make a recovery in due time, take care Allen R
Hi Ian Sorry to hear you are not so well, I was thinking of building a crash tender and priced up the kit from the manufacture in London, at the beginning of 2016 it was quoted at about £240 just for the kit, it was a bit out of my price bracket considering that I would need a whole lot more bits even to start work, could be a bargain for somebody Good luck and hope you get better soon take care Allen R
Yes I fully agree with you robbob, the website is a credit to you, regarding the upgrade I think all active members should donate at least a fiver lets see the January donation list number grow from its present miserable 2! well into the twenties and even thirties, show your appreciation, and a happy new year to all.👍😊
Magic man you're doing a fantastic job, will you be taking a break for Xmas?, I recon your other half if feeling like she's left on the shelf at the moment, second mate to a boat builder or something like that, I can see you are really enjoying the build and its fascinating for all of us followers, keep it going we're loving it!!
Hi Robbob, I'm so impressed with your method of building and the careful thought you are giving the work, this will be a masterpiece when its finished, keep it up. By the way what kind of black paint are you using inside the cabins?, thanks
