Not tested it yet. I'm actually going to power it with two 18.5V 5000mAH Lipos, 37 volts in total. (1.28KG). The speed controller is water-cooled. I don't know what the top speed will be but I suspect it will be ridiculously fast! I'll start with a 50mm prop and try out different sizes. Could this potentially be the fastest fireboat in the world? (Motor: Scorpion HK-4035-560) (ESC: Turnigy Marine) (10/10)

I too am a 'beginner'. I'm just making one now and I'm on the painting stage. it has been a bit of a mission and, right from the beginning, every stage of the build has had it's own challenges but it has been a rewarding experience. I've always found Mike to be very helpful and if you would like to speak to me during your build, that would be possible.
For glue, I used Araldite 24hour for the stronger joints, and for those which take time to fit. For the quicker stuff I used Araldite Rapid (10min). The whole boat is stuck together with the stuff and it's built like a tank!

I wonder if you need watercooling.
I use a Torpedo 850 with a 12v 3AH lead acid battery without any cooling at all on my 34" Aerokits Crash Tender.
I get five to ten minute run time on full power, after which time the motor and battery are stone cold.
Goes like the clappers at top speed, and goes for hours when just ticking over.

Please can anyone tell me where I can get a mast and rescue davit for my boat. I have all the other fittings and don't wish to buy the whole lot again.

I didn't know you could get these! I made a stencil out of masking tape and actually painted the letters on. it looks pretty good.
