Try to get the rating (current) for the motor under load and match this to a suitable LiPo (C rating). How many times the capacity the battery can stand being pulled at any moment).
ESC cut-off is related to LiPo protection (minimum voltage) and not brushless. Some can be configured via software/programmer/DIP/jumpers to different cell types.
To make sure things function as expected talk to a local supplier, bite the bullet and jump for Motor, ESC and LiPo(s) in 1 hit.
Good luck ๐

Yes. Power draw (both 'C' rating and running duration) may be an issue but I run brushless and brushed on both LiPo and Nimh. Nimh is on 'chugabout' as opposed 'racy' model. Some of ESC have DIP's/jumpers to select sources (3.0V cut-out for LiPo)

Hi,
Wooden bits possibly under the mushroom vents or backing pads for 'T' cleats?
Thing that looks like single spoke steering wheel is likely a windscreen centrifugal wiper?
Good luck ๐

Pretty sure it is, as others have suggested, a battery capacity issue. Those dry cells may well have worked for the blink of an eye but the draw of the ESC alone will kill them stone dead in very little time. Do you have a higher capacity cell pack you can try?

๐ Spektrum DX6i compatible surface Rx advice pls...

Just clearing up a point. I have a dozen Spectrum and Orange receivers already. I was just concerned about 2.4Ghz and blocking due to water and in hull installation. Do you run additional aerial or are the Spektrum, Orange and Lemons just fine without this?

Hi,
Returning to modelling and I have a DX6i Tx and am seeking advice on suitable/best compatible Rx for use on surface (marine) models?
All input welcome (happy with clones as well as Spectrum kit)
Thanks in advance.

Looked into this years back when I 'rescued' and old 20ft gaffer from the mud and put her back into commission. She had not name but just opt make sure the gods of the sea didn't get to miffed at loosing a vessel I carved a small unmanned one and sent it out on the falling tide and then launched and renamed my own yacht the following tide. 7 years, never an issue. Possibly it worked or I was just lucky ๐
