    HI Colin,

I've been in Hereford for 12 years now and most suitable places I've found are fishing only, but you can sail real size boats up at Bodmin lake, near Queens woods as there is a boat club there, I have sailed my model yacht up there but haven't put the fireboat into the water, as its very deep and the access is difficult and to be honest I'm not sure I'm Allowed to be there? No one has complained "yet", about the sailboat, but remember half of the lake is a nature reserve and they may not take to powered boats.

Thanks Very much, some great ideas, will be contacting the local council asap, and in a few weeks time I've got a canal restoration job to survey, so will be taking the boats down to wales with me to sail in the basin's between the lock systems.

thanks again for the ideas, really useful advice ๐Ÿ˜Š

    HI everyone,

when my dad built my boat he built the radio gear himself as well and the rudder was driven from a motor and worm drive set up, which as you can Imagine took up a lot of space In the rear deck, I want to drop the rear deck down lower but want to ask advice on heights of rudder tubes and water lines, I assume the rudder tube should not be below the water line for obvious reasons, but since the boat Is In a striped and ready for paint I've no Idea how low she will sit In the water..... can anybody offer any useful suggestion ๐Ÿ˜Ÿ
ps the boat Is a 34"

Hi, don't want to tread on anybody's toes but rather than blow up ESC's, which are expensive, why don't you put a car type fuse in the system, then you have a controllable limit to the current drain. ๐Ÿ˜Š

    Hi
my first boat was the fire boat that I've still got today ,my dad built it in the garden shed when my mun was carrying me because she didn't want him smoking in the house. I've had the boat for 43 years now, and as I work on it my own boy (aged 6) keeps telling me that it will be his boat one day. so the boat will have been in the family for 3 generations. ๐Ÿ˜Š ๐Ÿ˜Š ๐Ÿ˜Š

    HI out there,

Has anybody got any ideas where I can sail my boats in the Hereford area?, the fireboat will be finished this summer and I've had a yacht for 7 years that's, only ever seen the inside of a bath tub, for a county that floods every year there's no boating lakes and any open water seems to be taken up by fishermen who aren't to keen to have model boats upsetting the fish....can anybody help?

    thanks

    HI CrashRescue..

Not sure about the decks as my dad built my boat 40 odd years ago but I have seen on this site that you can get a fitting kit from model slipway.. theres a link in the useful links bit.. if you do buy the fittings kit would be interested in hearing what you think about it as I need a fittings kit too.. but have still got a long way to go before getting to the finishing bits.

    many kind regards
    Smaze
