Hello, I've just found this during an internet search. I have a model Gracia my father build many years ago. He has recently passed and I now have the model which has sat in a window for ages. It therefore needs a little TLC, especially one side which caught the sun. It has never been sailed and has no RC installed. I'm trying to find out more information about the boat - have you any? I've attached a picture

Thanks for the picture, she looks a beauty! Yes Cast Iron as magnetic. I was wondering if there were plans or the booklet that came with the model in scanned form maybe - I have some repairs to make so that might be useful, also just any general information about the models. One side I will have to refinish - what paints would have originally been used? I don't wish to make her look absolutely brand new as a kind of patina adds to the authenticity, but one side of the hull that has been exposed to sunlight for years has crazed/pickled lacquer. The windows are also a little crazed, however that's not so much of an issue than the lacquer. Once done it may be nice to sail her!

Thanks Roy, I've a few busy weeks ahead, but will engage a bit more with some more pictures of the problems I need help with as soon as I can. Thanks for the pointers so far, much appreciated!

I THINK Pat is 2 days away.
GARTH loses a red mark tomorrow. If GARTH doesn't get tomorrow wrong, Garth moves up 3%??
Tomorrow Pat loses a green, if he gets tomorrow right he stays where he is

Do you have a sketch for this?
“ I did see a solution to side to side motion but it may not suit your model. This to have a tube probably at least 3+ cm wide with baffles across the inside with holes in and half fill it with water and have it across the central part of the boat and as high as possible without it causing a cap size. Then as the water tries to flow either way it is slowed down by the baffles. This acts to slow down the side to side motion.”

Hi Roy. Just read your post on Ai and agree totally with it. My son, Ross works for the UK Gov., mainly on international policy & priorities for Ai. He knows some of the people at the Turin Institute. Was it a guy called Matt Clifford that your son knows/knew?

Roy a good afternoon
This is what i like about this forum. You come up with an item and within seconds people reply.( i haven’t sent a contribution to the site yet because both banks are charging rediculous percentages) a friendvof mine is going to the uk and he will pass it on)
I have all my life organised prfessionally exhibutions so …. But if you could sent me some of your financial items of the model exhibition i will be gratefull.
We organise it at a castel at extremely low cost. There will be a bar serving cold and hit drinks as well as fancy cava.A second club which exists 50 years will join in they finish the end of the year because nobody wants yo be the secretary or president. They are specialised in static ship models.
We do have the advantage of having the 3 divisions trains lorries and ships.
If you want to make a jump to the continent you are invited.
Looking forward to hear your remarks, suggestions and comments

Hi Roy,
I have taken several pictures of the strake cutting jig (as requested) and some more to show it’s fitting to make it easier to understand how it works.
These have all been added to the thread, but I have noticed that you have not seen it yet.
I hope these pictures are good enough for you to see, but if you need any more info about it or how it works, please let me know.
Kind regards,
Bob.
