Boys, I’ve seen messy rooms…. My daughter for instance…. Stuff all over the place and can’t find a thing.

Now my hobby room just happens to have a lot of tools, plans, more tools, wood, things, stuff, other things, misc etc etc etc almost looks the same guess…. But I know where EVERYTHING IS

Behind that closed door that hides it all. But it ain’t messy ! Just busy πŸ™„

    Hello
I spend a great deal of my time in my workroom and I love it but if I had the space and set up of your Hobby Room I would never be seen especially during the winter months. It is magnificent and I am sure envied my most of us, thanks for sharing it with us and changing our colour to green.
    Best regards ChrisG

    Hi Herman,
My wife keeps reminding me not to hoard too much, to put it aside. . . otherwise she would call me a little Messi . . .
I try to stick to it. . . . .but sometimes it's really difficult!
Well, the important thing is that you don't always have to buy new things.
My rule: I have 3 boxes of odds and ends:
In the first one is the new material, in the second one I put what I didn't touch last six months. In the third and last box is material that will be disposed of after one year. But then this stuff has to go for good.
This is how it goes from box to box
And my wife also participates here. Cool, isn't it?
    Ciao, Michel-Cl.

PS Mike Stoney was my name when I was still making music as a hobby with 3 mates. Unfortunately 2 of them died.
if you don't ask, you won't get an answer!

    Hi Lew!
That's when you enjoy crafting, but if you don't have the space, you have to discuss it with your wife.
I did it with good suggestions.
As long as I don't use your desk, that's OK. After all, you don't want to annoy your accountant, otherwise your hobby salary will inevitably be cut!
For this, I still got half of the small cellar and furnished it optimally.
Small but my, also suitable for household appliance repairs.
First photo my office page, the second my retreat ... .

This is quite enough for me ...
    Cheers Michel-Cl.

Ps: Photo Nr 3 Is the refurbished old Dremel

Well, we, across the big pond, in Florida are not too unfortunate. My workshop shares space with my computer systems (two PCs, a 3D printer, laser-jet and inkjet printers). The room is 10-1/2' X 14' with an 8' ceiling. Piles of storage space. My drill press, band saw, small lathe, and other "messy" tools share my garage with the two SUVs.

We are also not too unfortunate with our weather. Today's SSMBC meet was cold and breezy. Cold being about 62Β°F - and we were complaining about that while bundled up.

Compared to what you chaps in the USA and Canada have by way of workshops I guess I am fortunate. In the house I have my internal workshop (see pic), whilst outside I havπŸ˜‰e my garage workshop, where all the dusty and messy work is done.

RodC I hear you on the temps…. But then it means I spend more time practicing my boat building. Nothing beats working away on a boat when the snow is piling up, the wind is howling, wonder if the power will stay on……. But the coffee is hot….
