I am glad that we each are finding ways to enjoy our RC boats.
For me the biggest issues are the waves in all of our ponds here when the winds are over 10 mph. but, I usually avoid "rough seas", so I get to have fun running the boats around ( especially my home pond).
As for the large pond / man made lake here in Wellen park, That is a great place to boat, but it is open waters and you have to mind the waves.
One of these days, I will drive up and bring some of my boats to your club there.
👍👍👍

Isaac, I am north of you a bit. I guess one would call a pond a small lake. The area is covered with these small and larger bodies of fresh water which stands out when flying over the area. Our big problems usually are finding a pond with a decent edge an little to no grow in the water.
Industrial parks (commercial) are often well cared for but have no trespassing signs up, most likely for liability reasons. That leaves us with ponds in city/county parks (many with too much growth) or salt water tributaries.
So the one we use (SSMBC, Florida) is in a county park. It has been used for RC boating for at least 50 years that I know of. It is round and the county keeps it trimmed most of the time. The personnel/management are aware and friendly towards us. They added that floating dock in for us at my request about seven years ago. A fairly good amount of trees that mitigates the breeze and thus stabilizes the boats as well as providing shade. The parking, restrooms, and dock are pretty close together.
Most of our concern about using this pond is weather related. We seem to be in a good condition now that we have been getting rain.

I really can't answer how to categorize any body of water. Pond, lake, sea, ocean.......it is all relative term.
As far as the ponds I use, here is my narrow definition: In Florida the USA, since it is mostly at sea level in the southern parts where I reside, all inland bodies of water are man made ( they are called retention ponds ). The dirt that is dug up is used to raise any new construction approx 14 ft above sea level. There are also natural springs, rivers and swamps. Thus all bodies of water I use are ponds.
I have a good size pond in the back of my house and use it mostly ( first photo here ), but the picture enclosed in the original post is of a really big, big pond that is part of a park with lots of people ( second pic ) . I only run it there on Sunday mornings because there is a big farmers market and lots of spectators that look at the boats and come over to talk.

Nice boats. That is some big body of water. Just curious, what is the difference between a pond and a lake?
I dumped all my Spectrum stuff and use Flysky products now. Great value for the money .Len

I have also just bought a FlySky (FS-16X) as all my Spectrum radio kit is getting on a bit now and running the FS-16 is an inexpensive upgrade with much easier to find spare receivers .....and at a lower price too!
Your boats and sailing facilities look superb! 👍

I have replaced my old Spektrum air transmitter I previously used on my boats with a new land version from Flysky. I switched 4 of my boats to that radio with new receivers with no problems.
Ran my big torpedo boat and the airboat I converted from gas to electric at the big pond in Wellen park Florida.
Fun day
Isaac 👍
