I have just telephoned to say that I have not received my May issue, they are sending a replacement and as that was the end of my subscription invited me to renew. I queried whether the magazine was continuing and was told that as far as they were aware, it was, so I let them take my money. We'll see what we'll see no doubt.

Just received an email from Model Boat Magazine stating that because of the current situation they are going to temporarily suspend publication until after the current crisis is over.
They will resume when all is back to normal.
I won’t go into any more as you will all no doubt be frantically checking your emails for the full facts.

Doug it seems I owe an apology - French is 41 indeed - the shop in Caen sold me a 41mhz for my 40 Radio to avoid problems at my club - the 40 I got from someone else - cant find the Radio at this point - somewhere in one of the cupboards - probably is the lowest 40mhz frequency available . Memory really dodgy at this moment............

They use right across 40Mhz Doug so far as I know - go lower than the English range - the one I have is the lowest - will have to get the set out to check. Heard that from a fellow member of our club - the electronic wizard Alan - (sadly passed away some time ago). Promptly speeding up next visit to Caen bought the crystals - not all that cheap either. Only had one set - pity as i have 3 receivers so have to swop when using.

Google MRB France to find the main French one Nerys - Model Re ...... de Bateux from a faulty memory - will dig through my old files to see if there's a name for the other and an address for both.
Were always a pleasure to deal with - and any freebies they dished out to readers they always sent separately as well - load line & other transfers - 16 little planking holder screw gadgets etc.
Doug already listed German ones - can probably give you the address too.

If I do not receive the May issue tomorrow (Tuesday) which is the last one I can expect on my subscription I will ring them and at the same time ask if I can renew. If they have suspended, then I'll look into the possibility of the French or German mags Perhaps somebody could tell me the titles.

As i have been discussing with someone else as well Doug - time to brush up on ones French , German or Italian and subscribe to MRB & the like. Have to agree with you re your advice on subscriptions to Model Boats for Nerys .
Seems model boating has a stronger following on the Continent and is more appreciated. Know when running the Police Boat & others on several ponds/dams in France (after enquiries at the local Mayors Offices) always garnered a crowd of interested spectators - a lot being keen to know all the details about the model ( power, controls etc) and where they could buy a kit etc etc. Interesting in that some of them did not know there was a local model shop (Cherbourg, Caen etc) . Purchased quite a few items in France including a set of 40mhz crystals that work well with my nominal 35mhz 3 channel set - single stick - one switch.

Just spent the last three hours fishing around in the MB Forum, Mayhem, RC Boats and even followed a link to Model Engineer.
Result; ZILCH!! No one knows what's going to happen!
And if the powers that be do (which I doubt) they ain't saying!
All the economics point to bye bye mag, and probably MTM as well, if the lockdown on small 'non essential' retailers continues much longer.🤔

Colin Bishop made a comment on Mayhem Doug in which he said he believes Mr Chorlton had been dismissed (a freelancer )and later that the reason for suspending the publication was that with WH Smith being closed there would not be sufficient copies sold to warrant printing the magazine for the interim.

Used to subscribe to the three French magazines when living in UK - saw RC Marine has been taken over by MRB so only two remain. Its amazing how your language skills improve (reading anyway) and the free plans from them all were fantastic - the one for PT109 is probably the best I have ever seen.
Will probably have to subscribe again .

I only have the digital subscription and have long been irritated that I don't get the 'free' plans or the Winter Specials. Think I'll cancel it and just stick with Modellwerft and Schiffspropeller here in Germany. They are still going strong. Got the latest issues two days ago😊

Unfortunately that editorial was written long before the suspension . The editor posted a short note on the site re the suspension of the magazine. The post was removed shortly thereafter and not by the moderator , The Editor has been dismissed as he was a Contract employee and as far as i am aware the magazine will not be published for a while after the current edition . There is a thread re My Time Media on the website giving the details - and one in Mayhem and RC Groups - the one on the magazine site may well have been removed.

I received mine a couple of days ago and their is an editors comment on future editions that says they will be there but with some necessary changes but minimal

Very sad if Model Boat Magazine is suspended. There's nothing on their website about it and would appear to still be taking subscriptions. I'm wondering what to do, as mine runs out this month. Do hope this is only a short term move, a new editor is found (nothing wrong with the old one) and the mag reappears.

Last one May issue Nerys - then suspended - editor let go as he was part timer.

Shan't be getting mine for awhile as Post Office closed for mail purposes during Lockdown , (up to end of April at this stage) Still waiting for April edition.........
