I thought I was the only one who does that. The other thing is did you notice that the floor gets further away the older you get?

What about when you can't find your coffee cup, but it eventually appears in the microwave, full and cold😀. You then reheat said coffee and repeat the process 4 more times. Or you open the microwave, put your coffee in and wonder where the start button is,- there isn't one - because it's the fridge😂 The usual disorientation, (why am I in this room and what did I want) or going to the supermarket with the desire to buy only milk, and come home with a bag full of groceries and NO MILK😮. Thinking,"I won't glue that piece on because xxx will happen" and promptly gluing it on.
Think my ex is loosing the plot as well, she rang the other day, and I told her something I had just found out (hadn't spoken to her for a month) later in the conversation I mentioned something else to do with the subject and she told me I had already told her last time I rang her😐?? (could be just a plot to make me think I'm losing it) 😉

When modelling, we should all sit in a chair inside a large tray with magnets and sticky pads scattered around to try and defeat gravity sucking parts to the center of the earth, or failing that, a magnetic anti gravity car parts tray for working with tiny screws.
This empty coffee cup is beginning to worry me,- have I just finished it or do I need to make one??😐😐

Re-Why do some dropped parts vanish for ever ?
Once dropped a fine carburettor spring (special type) tipped my double garage upside down for about 3 hrs,- no spring. Had to make one as you couldn't buy one. About a year later I was putting on a pair of old shoes (to do some gardening) which had always been on a box about 2ft off the ground, felt something in the toe-------------------------😭😠

Then when you have made the new one, yes you know what happens next the old one suddenly appears.

The difficulty when searching for a dropped component you have made is deciding at what point it would be most economical of time to stop searching and make a new one!

Hate to think. I lost 4 6BA stainless Steel Bolts the other day. Moved Everything including an Engineering Bench that weighs 190Kgs. Nowhere Nothing! Now I got to try and get some hex bar to make a few more☹️☹️ And we are still under lockdown

Must have been The Borrowers Red.
I reckon they also took my box (roughly 6" cube) of mini scissor clamps🤔
Still haven't found them since my workshop 'sort out' last year😭
Commodore-H; During my periodic hunt for the clamps I also spent hours going through boxes of 'stuff' I found, and deciding do I save it for another two decades or .....?

Red,
There is probably a mouse that has been eyeing that up for a while and seeing his opportunity grabbed it.
And now is wizzing around a local pond in a converted prop driven Lily pad.LOL!!

Why do some dropped parts vanish for ever ? - lost a 30mm prop my friend converted for me from 4mm to 3 mm thread with a machined insert - dropped onto hard flooring and vanished. searched everywhere - never found . Spent hours looking for months afterwards. Ripped out the propshaft and replaced with 4mm to save future hassles - long job with lots of problems.

When moving out of the house years later expected to find it - dismantled the work desk - removed storage wardrobes - room completely empty - still no prop. Even checked the chair - no signs of it or anything else - must have been the Bermuda room as several other small items also vanished - even checked the dustpans when cleaning up - no one else ever ventured into the converted garage as I had the only key..........

Workshop chart is brillant.

In my case should include looking on floor for dropped parts and deciding whether I should use something or save it for naother ten years.
The sure way to succeed is, just try one more time

As I wanted to post 5 hours ago! 🙄

Yep! Several times a day Rick🤔
Often I go out from my kitchen/workshop, turn left towards the pantry and bathroom, end up standing in the bathroom doorway thinking; What the heck did I want in here?
Then it dawns on me 💡 go round the corner to the pantry and get what I wanted out of the fridge!
You are not alone!
Cheers, ... er ... sorry, what was your name again?😮
😎
PS If I have a job to do in the garden or on terrace I've learned to take the whole damn toolbox with me!

Ahhhhh,Yes !!
We have been here before, on this one.
We go shopping....Did I lock the car?...
Wife replies...Yes, come on.
I say, where are the keys....
Wife.. in your pocket.
Me,No there not.
Wife..There in my handbag...😂😇

So I walk down to the model shed at the bottom of the garden to do a little boat building and forget the keys.
So I walk back up to the house to get them and forget why I walked back up to the house.

In fact why did I just log on this site. 😀
Regards Bill
