Sprue Figure.

As you say Mike it was a bit of plastic that would of been thrown in the recycle bin.
And now i know it is possible but fiddley i can see a few crew members being made.
Hopefully better that this one LOL!!

Hi Martin you can't beat making something out of nothing for self satisfaction and not to mention saving the planet.

That is superb Martin.
Have you ever considered making six 1:16 scale figures sitting in the seats of a Tamar Class Lifeboat?😁😁😁😁
I cannot promise to finish one project before starting another. I know, I tried.

Sprue Figure.

Hi marky,
No it was only an experiment just to see if i could do it.
The face is a hard part to do.
If i make more then hopefully they will get better.
It is really annoying not being able to get figures for our boats that is why i thought i would give it a go.

Hi Martin,

That's very ingenious!

But, I'll stick to my 3D Printer!

Although, mine may take about 2 hours to print!

OK , never mind yours are better! LOL!

Cheers, Ed

Sprue Figure.

Hi Guys,
Well i don’t know what happened but i woke up this morning and thought i am going to try an experiment.

The plan was to see if i could make a 1:48 scale figure (1 1/2”) using left over plastic sprue.

So a took some rough measurements and then cut some bits of sprue, after a bit of tinkering i had a shape.
I then coated the shape with some white wood glue and toilet tissue to make the shape look like it had clothes on.
A quick coat of paint and that was it done.

I think with a bit more practise i might be able to make something that will look decent.
