Thank you Geoff,

I also agree reference research, but i also agree with Doug as he said not all are happy with this modern day technology.

I myself am not that great at computer stuff but i do like to help the best i can.

I have noticed that sometimes it seems easer to find some information here in the U.K that other members have been unable to find in there own country and the same the other way around.

So as you know we have fantastic members on this site and i think we all like to help in anyway we can.

" if they have a computer to send a question, then, in my view, they have the means to find the answer for themselves. "
I've often thought that too.
But then, some of us old codgers 😉 are maybe not so adept with computers, tablets or whatever, or at getting round the web and digging up stuff.

I'm off for a free meal now 😊😋
C U's later.

Hello To Martin, and others who serve us on this site.
Thank you for all you do, but I don't think many of us realise who much time you put in to dealing with what needs to be done. But I don't feel that you should spend too much time doing research for people, if they have a computer to send a question, then, in my view, they have the means to find the answer for themselves. Surely this is part of our hobby searching for information or data, and of course some questions I have seen are just, asking a question for the sake of it. We see them in all hobbies. Please make time for yourselves, we want you to do that.

Regards,

Geoff.

Hi Martin,
I also basically asked him for an explanation, and explained that we have 'few' rules as such - that we rely on our members good taste.
Just all in German as he apparently lives in Berlin.
And he didn't react to or query the first deletion.

Cheers, Doug 😎

For our non German speaking members-
I have simply asked izrutiiw what he meant by his cryptic post, and warned him that if he just thinks it's funny to disturb our forum then we will have to ban him.
I had noticed a similar post a few days ago🤔

Hallo izrutiiw,
Ich finde dein Post auch etwas verwirrend!
Was genau meintest Du dabei?
Wenn es dir bloß Spaß macht unser Forum zu stören dann müssen wir dir leider verbannen.

Bitte um Erklärung.

Bill,
I do hope your son is on the mend.
Can understand what you are going through, had a similar experience with my daughter several years ago. Fortunately I recognised the symptoms and got her to the hospital just in time.

My best wishes to you all.

I thank you as well Rick 👍
and heartily agree with Martin, who is getting to know how it was for me for a few years before he came on board😉 and probably also for Ed before I joined him.
Meantime Ed seems to have drifted off to the 'Buggy Boys' 😁 Hope he soon gets bored with that. I miss him.
I also found that the computer was beginning to take over my life, sitting up most of the night doing research for folks all over the world (many of whom never bothered to respond or tell us if they ever did anything with the info, which can be disheartening) but my gratitude to all who did respond 😀 As Martin said, even if not logged in we tend to leave the Haunted Fish Tank 3.0 running just to keep an eye on what's happening on the site.🤓
"It's just something that we do" , coz we believe it is worth doing 😉
Carry on, and enjoy your modelling crew 👍

Hi Rick,
There is no need to thank us, altho it is much appreciated But it is just something we do.

The computer time is just something i had noticed and i was surprised at the amount of hours i spend on it.

Totally understandable Bill - even when kids are in their 40s you worry about them.

Hope he gets better soon .

Martin; Bill👍👍👍👍👍 Must say that with good weather here I think most of us have not been on the computer as much. I'm sure that members realize that this site is for enjoyment not meant to be a job for our moderators to reply to everything and everyone.
We must give them a break and thank them for helping when and if they can.
Hope your son is doing well. Bill

Hi Martin and All.
I agree.
I must apologise to Martin as a fellow moderator that he has taken the brunt of the moderating of late, but I have been mainly offline for two weeks following one of my sons having emergency surgery....Family comes first.
Hopefully as he improves I will get back on line.
Stay safe everyone.

Martin,

I can sympathise. I don’t know how much time I spend on-line, but I know it is too many hours so I have been trying to cut down recently. Trouble is, it is additive 😔

Computer Time.

Hi guys,

I have noticed that my computer time has risen to 12.95 hours a day average usage.
This is not good as i spend most of my time on this thing than i do on anything else.
I have therefor decided to try and cut down on my computer usage.

It is so easy to sit here and monitor online or off line than it is to go and do something, it seems to be a trap that i have set for myself.
I then get lethargic and lose interest in every thing else.

So i will apologise in advance if i don’t get back to members as quickly as i normally would but i don’t want this computer taking over my life.
