MAXTON
Midshipman
Badger Customs Launch
Scratch built some years ago, powered by 6volt PB battery.
She was always very slow and hard to manoeuvre. She was made from MM plans. I could never get her to behave in the water. 27Mhz TX/RX. tried changing motor, prop 6 to 12 volts nothing seemed to make much difference, gave up in the end. You can't win them all.

    Hi!
I got it from "Boats and Bits" in Newton le Willows who closed down over 10 years ago.
Try Steve at Scale Hobbies in Skelmersdale.
    Google--- Scalehobbies Skemersdale.
    Good Luck

Thanks for the info, I'll give it a go. trouble is I've had the hull since 1982 so it's a bit out of date as Cygnus then started to produce the GM 33 Continental like yours. But I'm not beat yet, even if I have to end up making the wheelhouse from scratch ! 😰

Can anyone please tell me if they know what this model is or should be as it was given to me by an old gentleman who also did not what it was or should be

I think it is Bowman model, 1930's.
They made them with steam power, clockwork and also rubber power.

100% scratch built model of the Toronto harbor Fireboat. Been in the making for almost five years now. When finished it will be RC and have water pumping capabilities. Toronto Fire Services are celebrating the boat's 50th anniversary this year and appear to be interested in my model. The boat will be powered by two Dumas six volt motors geared three to one.

Talacre
SS Talacre - Single Hatch Coaster 1:48 Scale Just recently bought second hand and about to renovate to my own standard!
Caldercraft SS Talacre
The SS Talacre is a typical single hatch coaster used in the coal trade of a type that was found by the hundreds around the coast of the U.K. in the golden era of steam. Designed for Point of Ayr Collieries by Crichton, Thompson & Co Ltd., of London she was built by Crabtree &Co., of Great Yarmouth in 1917. Talacre was named after a small village near the colliery. Talacre was finally scraped in 1959 by the Hammond Lane Foundry in Dublin. Realism leaps out of the completed model, as if a turn of a valve will start the anchor windlass or the cargo winch clattering away and the lagged steam pipes to begin steaming and drying out.

my aluminium barge a meter long
I made a wooden barge for my tugs to pull but found this too heavy so I asked my old firm to make me one in 4mm aluminium it has been fully seem welded and is water tight .I got them to powder coat the whole barge in black matt and I just added the red paint. The top just slides off so I can change the cargo I just wish that I had not made this so deep as it sits high in the water unless I add a load of ballast am using a 10 ltr water container at the min and its still work in progress

here are my three boats, oakgarth 42" twin screw 4 blade props with kort nozzles she also has a working bow thruster. She running two speed controllers off a 12volt sla battery and has full working lights I would love to say I built her but I never, all I have done is added lights and give her a full makeover. Next is Doug the26" pusher tug twin screw 3 blade props full working lights and water jet single speed controller futaba radio set up I have just changed the crane on this again I have only done cosmetics to this tug and my last boat is a 20" seaport tug this is what my grandchildren sail and for 60 quid its great thay love it .the paddling pool was 15 quid for argos and perfect for testing well better than filling the bath .

BRAVO ZULU! I also love the test tank, I'm investing in a 12 x 6'er next spring. My latest builds are getting too big for the tub!
It's great that you get your kids involved; I feel that RC is by far the best
entertainment: Helos, planes, trains, autos & especially BOATS!
Heck with the video games I say!
My gr'daughter loves learning to fly the helo or me chasing her around with it. My goal is to get good enough to land on the tiny flight deck of my 1:48
USCG 210' Cutter while underway, without getting wet, of course.
HAVE A SAFE RC BOATING DAY!

Here's a few more pics showing my home made winch from a Lego 9volt motor unit which is controlled by a servo and two micro switches. There's a ring on the deck line that all the sail lines are tied onto. Cheers Lubber. PS. The large mainsail is counter ballanced by the deep hull shape right aft. Regards.
