I bought a part finished 36" crash tender from one of our members who was going to live in foreign parts. Trying to be a bit more individualistic, I have not finished her in the conventional colours but I'm pleased with the result. Unfortunately, under existing isolating conditions, I have been unable to launch her, however she is sitting on the harbour side waiting for a lifting of restrictions.
I bet you could hear the Welsh voices ringing round the valleys in time with the steam exhaust! A sound unit with choir voices could make a really stunning model!

Doug. The chief engineer had a large field and stables at his house where he kept six dragons. He used to take two on alternate days on their leads down to the ship. The ship provided very much an Ifor the Engine type service taking Sunday School Outings and local Male Voice Choirs for trips out around Flat Holm and Steep Holm.
Was your dragon related to the little one who fired the boiler of a saddle tank steam loco?
Idri Ivor? Seen here with 'Jones the Steam' 😀
Glad to hear U2 are battling on👍
Cofion gorau (I hope!), Doug 😎
Doug, I felt a dragon was very appropriate for a fire boat. Some years ago, I wrote a children's story about a paddle steamer whose boilers were fired by dragon's breathe. Yes, rather out of my normal run, but our club member was disposing of his fleet and I wanted to help out. She only took me a couple of weeks to finish as the hull was complete. I also bought a Dragonforce 65 from him so that Alice had one to race against my existing one.
