Two new additions appeared at The Pavilion Gardens lakeside recently - belonging to BMBC members.
The models were - "Bonnie Lass", and " Milford Star " from Caldercraft.
The Buxton Model Boat Club sail at the Pavilion Gardens lake on Sunday and Thursday mornings - comments being - "an entertaining spectacle for all the family" and - "a Valuable asset and attraction to the town" .
I really enjoyed the build. Lots of challenges along the way, both with the hull, the controls and Bionic Bill 😆. Gave me plenty to think about during lockdown and kept me busy while not being able to go out. The reaction, both here on the website, and when out on the lake has been brilliant. Bill was out rowing yesterday and there were lots of members of the public stopping to take photographs and ask questions.
Working on a few additions now to make it more interesting....
Graham Royle joined the Model Boat Website last summer, returning to modelling after a 45 year break. It was a display at Buxton Model Boat Club last year where he spoke with one of the members that got him started again.
Graham who is now a member of the Buxton Model Boat Club started his latest project "Bionic Bill", only 3 months ago at the beginning of lockdown.
What resulted is truly magnificent working model example of engineering, woodworking, electronics, perseverance and total dedication ! .
