Yes you can print ABS but a much higher temp. also you need some means of venting off the fumes, you have not got that problem with PLA.

1) Printer- Anet a8 cheap and cheerful
2) All my printing is done with PLA, there are many types of filament available but PLA seems the most popular.
3) With this printer you can print anything that fits in a 8 inch cube ie 8x8x8inch but printing times can be long. Printing can become a hobby of its own be warned !!!!!!!!!😀😀😀

Being a tight a** I have printed two UV joint's for the Tug OK for low power use but no good for IC, also the main winch. UV joint drilled for M4 prop shaft and 2.3 mm motor shaft with two M4 Allen Socket Hex Head Grub Screws in each.

Hi Martin, lets say it's not as easy as sanding wood, I wont be doing it again but I am to far in to stop now, just did it to see if it could be done.
Much prefer wood but will still print small detail parts for next build.

Hi Martin, I'm a bit old fashioned and like do as much as I can, you can buy this sort of thing but it's more rewarding to do it yourself rather than throw the drone away, it can record and you can use it for fpv, it will make rescue work easier 'cos I can see what I'm doing😁😁

I have an old drone I no longer use so I thought I would try and use the camera without the motors and body to make my own wi-fi camera for my boats. Photos show what I used from drone plus printed a case for the pc board. Short video recorded on my phone with camera app on my pond with INCA moored up by my bonsai tree and a trip to Freeman's Falls.

Now painted not going overboard with detail this is just a fun boat,Viper marine 15 speed control, 1 1/2 prop, cut down large brass rudder, more than 3 1/2 pounds lead ballast, will be adding nav lights, maiden voyage set for Sunday 2nd February weather permitting 🤞😊

Basic hull finished dry fit motor, shaft and prop, plus rudder. Blue painters tape great for holding hull bottom, better than clamps for 1/16th ply.

Yes I should give details just wanted to get back to the build, scratch built plank on frame with wood I have to see how cheap I can build it. No plans as such just side elevation and photos off the net so not true scale 31 inc long 8.5 inch beam some detail from my 3d printer, planks ripped from softwood and pickled until I could form the bends and left to dry before fitting, electric power and will fit brass prop after sea trials. This is the first boat I have built since I was 16 years old now 73!!!!!! been into model aircraft but this is more relaxing at least they come home in one piece.😀😀
