Hello,Boocock and thank you for your responce.
I have now sold all my boats as I had to give it up for certain
problems.
But I still like to look at the models from time to time, and will stay a member.
If you can post some information on anything about the rttl,I will pass it on to the new owners,I don't think he has had the time to become a member yet, but I am shure he will soon.Regards Gerry

Same here Stephen,I agree with Mr.Devlin,I thought that all site 's were mainly financed by the advertisers.
That is why I have not donated to any of the forum sites that I am a member off.I am a member of quite a few site's of different products and would be very difficult for me being a pensioner .However I do feel that this site should be done on a bases of the length of time that you are a member, say one month and you have to donate to access the forums or any other information.
It is one of the best model boating site's that I have found on the web.
So.Aยฃ15.00 pa from advertisers
Aยฃ05.00 pa from members
No fees for the first month.

Hi: Elthamcollege.Sorry if I may have understood you,if you are worried about water getting up the tubes, and not as I thought were you are joining the tubes to the hull.
The scart plugs I used are the small version IE:10mm dia cable scart to scart, with screw ends .
It all depends on what type of boat hull you are going to build, and the angle of the stern for the prop/tubes.
You have to cut the angles to fit.The screw ends then tighten on the tubes.I have included a drawing of the scart plug.
Hi: peter,no I have glued the tubes into the hull bottom, and to the bulkhead .(Sorry with apoxy).
The scart plugs are to help stabilize the tubes and cut down on vibration due to cavitation by the two motors.Plus they give me a better anchor point for the tubes.and it looks better than tubes sticking out of the bottom when on display.

Hi: I don't know if it helps, but I think you may mean the propshafts.I mounted mine on the (vigilant star) and filled the gaps with araldite, and a little trick I used was to support them on the stern of the boat, was to use the ends of a scart leadand araldite them in place. After aliqnment of the shafts, you can tighten up the scart ends on the shafts and they fit them perfectly,IE no leaks.
This works great and is a cheap way of doing it for a first time boat build like me.

The boat is a scratch built and started life in the shed. it is a semiscale model at aprox 36inch, built with balsa wood.It is full remote control and fitted with two Mtroniks Vision 600 motors one 12volt 7ah battery, one seasprint esc.
It was built as a fun boat so I could sail with my friend Peter thomas with his variuos boats.
Several things have now been added since this boat was first built, IE smoking stacks, fireing torpedoes and magnetic pickups for colecting them. Also has working radar/moving gun + a home built bec.
Flag poles and flags/compas has been added on the superstructure.
Each motor draws 6amps at full power, I have measured the speed from one point to another at a spacing of 60mtrs, and timed at 15 seconds, but this is a bit fast for this boat as she starts to plane out of the water.
We sail her at New Brighton lake on the wirral most wednesdays. As the weather is now a bit cool I have just purchased a simular model to this at 1:48 scale 110ft island class USCG Patrol boat so I can look at them both in action when the weather picks up. Anyone wanting info can contact me via this website.

Here is a video of our boat (Vigilant star) sailing at New Brighton boat lake on the wirral every Wednesday.
The boat is a semiscale (Coast Guard Cutter), designed by Hal-Harrison in Marine Modelling. I have doubled its size and put two 540/1 Mfa motors in, driving quanta 45mm props. She is 36" length 8" Bow, runs of one 12 volt 7Ah SLA battery.
It is made from Balsa/Fibreglass resin. Runs well no leaks to date. Gerry.
