Thanks for your comments - I have seen the pics of your Wavemaster and they encouraged me to finish this one. I have seen an advert for the Yeoman Minx from around 1960 and the retail price was 21/6 - about ÂA£1.08 in todays money.

Two Yeoman / HMM boats- both salvaged from e-bay and thought to be at least 55 years old. each having had most of internal structure removed. no drawings available so had to guess where 'bits' were needed. The smaller 'Minx' is powered by a brushless Turnigy Aerodrive SK286. The 'Wavemaster' has a brushless KD Thumrun 2387/18 and an EZ Run 18a ESC - supplied by Giantcod. First runs at Crealy - 29th July.

HI Dave. Here are a few pics. of the cabin and rear deck. I have no idea if they are correct as I have been unable to get a copy of the original drawings. The cabin top fits into a coaming / channel and is held in place by a rubber band, you can probably see the hooks in the photos. The rear deck sits on a ledge. it does not appear to be very watertight but seems to work quite well. Hope this helps. - John

Any Imformation regarding this boat found on e-bay would be appreciated. I believe It to be a Yeoman Minx, distibuted by AA Hales. I have a copy of a magazine ad. giving the price as 22/6 (about A£1.12). but no date. Length Is 20'', beam 7''.

Has anyone any details of the cockpit canopy, is it a permanent fixture or can it be removed ??. I only have a small b/w picture from a 1972 Keilkraft catalogue (Kit price then was £4.35 !!! )

Thought to have been built about 1972. First trial at Crealy Park, Exeter on 18th June 2010 following restoration. 700 size motor running on 9.6v with a X42.5 Prop.

Hi, I have a 1972 copy of the Keilkraft handbook which lists 4 kits by Nor Star :- OSPREY..KINGFISHER..WAVE RIDER & WAVE PRINCESS, perhaps you could post photos of your Wave Crest which might help in putting a date on it................. John

HI Rob. Thanks for your interest The motor is a KEDA Thumrun 2387/18 and the reversable ESC is an EZ-Run 18A + the appropriate programing card. I am using 8.4 v (3300mah)and an X45 prop. Motor and ESC purchased from www.giantcod.co.uk ............ John

HI Rob. Thanks for your comments. A video of the first outing was taken by Ianed57 which will appear in due course so hopefully you will be able to see the performanc of the 400's. The battery was fitted against the rear bulkhead in the mid section also the esc on forward b'head and the 2.4ghz rx on the underside of the roof. the only item in the rear section is rudder servo. Water seeps into both FPL;s in the rear section, I think its being forced up the rudder tubes as the stern dips at higher speeds. Thanks for your interest - John
