That's looking great Colin, a few years ago I finally got around to finishing my dad's fireboat as a static model and since then it's had a few mishaps in my attic where it was supposedly safely stored. Seeing your article has woken me up to get it shipshape once more.... cheers!

This poor boat has been in several attics over the last 40 years and I finally I decided last year that I would get to grips with it and do my best to have it's construction finished. This website has been very helpful and so a big thank you to all you talented chaps out there for being such an inspiration.
Although I now see mistakes dotted here and there, I was proud to raise the RAF ensign on the 3rd of March and then be able to say that the job was done. Granted it's only a static model and I'll need a lot of help and advice if ever I'm to install an engine but I thought it would be a good idea to share my efforts, mistakes included.

Thanks for that advice Dave, I think this summer will see me getting to grips with the Fire boat! Should it all come right I will post a photo, at present there's nothing much to look at.
Alan I've tried looking for your link... but I'm a bit lost.. will keep searching

Well here goes.... I have made myself a promise, that I would complete the building of my late father's Model Crash Tender.... but I'm a complete novice to this type of modelling and I could really do with some advice. I've searched You Tube but can only find videos of boats In action on the water; none on actually building the craft. I have almost all of the necessary metal parts but would really appreciate someone telling me how exactly these can be attached to the wooden structure. This Is a cry for help coming from a chap who had his fingers covered In super glue today whilst trying to fit the perspex windows!! (Goes to show just how much I don't know about putting a craft together).
Fingers crossed someone out there will be kind enough to write out step by step Instructions for me. This Is at the top of my 'bucket list' of things to do folks, so any help would be appreciated. Cheers. Peter D
