Partial to tugboats, but involved in N scale model trains, and many other retirement (octogenarian) activities ๐; I can readily relate to searching for time to cover them all.
Having the challenge and joy of constructing a model maritime vessel in a close representation of the skills (art) used for full sized vessels is a big part of the hobby.
Thanks for saving your favorites from the "dumpster"

I liked the sailing (ragman) question of the day ( answer Spin...r ). Spent my fair share of time on "stinkpots" too, enjoying water-skiing, fishing and cruising, both salt and fresh ๐ โฃ

Looks great, all considered: scratch built; interested in your jet drive l believe you mentioned. Yeah, is a SPEED boat ๐ค.
Me , I'm a TUG BOAT person; so I come from the Thrust, not so much RPM side of things. I'm learning ๐ โบ ๐ thanks ๐ค much to this group ๐.

Gonna be a spiffy PT or ? Patrol.
Looking forward to: powered, R/C, Scale details, etc.โ I have a Dumas PT-109; WIP (older kit, bit of challenge).
Full size ELCO, made right across from my home town, Staten Island, Bayonne, NJ ... back in the day 1940's...

Great comment on planking, which I'm currently doing on my Seguin Steam Tugboat (Blue Jacket, Inc. of Searsport, ME). Grew up at New York Harbor (Staten Island). Seguin actually worked there for part of its life.
First plank on frame from kit for me.
65 years ago, did plank on frame of my own design cabin cruiser, powered
by my still owned Atwood .049 nitro+
powered outboard motor. My R/C was
27.25 single channel from Citizen kit.
Huge expensive batteries.
Was large enough to run in salt water bay off Staten Island, on glassy
calm day ๐. Much funโผ๏ธ
