Know who the photographer is? If so, might be a good laugh to share.

In for a Dip

No, I think you missed the prefix un off that word. It’s quite difficult when you are racing the first leg is easiest as everyone is walking to keep with the boat in the same direction after the first mark life gets interesting as the people in front are now walking back towards you. Walking, avoiding other people and sailing your boat multi tasking, but it’s fun.

DuncanP, I too have low blood pressure especially when I go from crouching or sitting ... to standing up. It's thanks to my cardiologist prescribing ENTRESTO (which is sacubitril&valsartan). On the Thursday mornings that we sail i make a point to skip my a.m. dose altho the dose from the previous evening is still protecting/hazarding me. A launch cradle helps avoid the up-'n-down bobbing of my upper body.

I’ve been there too.
I was racing RC Laser at Gosport
So intent on watching the boat I stepped over the edge on a slight curve. The good news was I kept the radio dry and got out before anyone got a camera out. Still wet at the end of the day, so now I take a dare. Set of clothes and a spare boat.

Having had a couple of close calls myself I've resorted to straps. It seems the older one gets the higher the center of gravity becomes. I'm not particularly afraid of getting wet and incurring the mirth of the other captains in the area, but the potential damage to the boat concerns me.😊

It happens to the younger ones as well! When I was about twelve I was sailing my model yacht in Lake Windermere at Easter so it was rather cold. Suddenly my Mum saw a my woolly hat floating on top of the Lake.! Parents rushed to where I was sailing my boat and dragged me out. We had to go straight back to our hired caravan with me just wrapped in a dry coat! I now feel a bit anxious leaning over to launch as I have low blood pressure so sometimes feel a bit feint when standing up. I have now made some launch straps so I don't have to lean or bend down too much. Much safer way of launching and recovery! 😊😊

Been there myself, keep forgetting that I've got dodgy joints and boats are heavy.
I thought we should learn from our mistakes, but still forget I'm not a youngster.
Glad you didn't come to any harm.
Cheers Colin.
