It’s annoying when this happens. I always do a test spray on a piece of card first. Have learned from my own mistakes. The first was when spraying the white bands on an Flair Magnatilla model aircraft the first rc plane I had built in the late 80s. It was winter and cold outside so I thought they are only small squares I’ll do them in the kitchen.
After making quite a reasonable job I looked up and saw the kitchen table had a very white appearance, so had the work surfaces and some of the floor. It took me over two hours to clean it up. Forgo my wife had gone out shopping so she was non the wiser. The joys of rattle cans

hi chaps, thanks for the replies. The brushing it out seems to have worked, its not flat flat but l recon a bit of 400 grit and elbow grease will do the trick.
I did try to use the original spray can tops, horrible job going through the recycle bin, then found that the first 2 cans had a tube that went down into the can and the third, you guessed it came out of the top of the can, l gave up then' stay safe you lot Jim.

Hi all I use rattle can sprays as most do. I have looked for ages to get some metal etching spray or paint but oeventually found it in our local Poundland or it may have been £2.50 land!
Not sure about contents as I could not get a rattle out of it. Is it like spray varnish which has no rattle?

Once the paint has hardened off you might be able to rescue any runs/overspray/paint brush marks by spending some time polishing out with rubbing compound and a damp cloth. It worked for me last year when I was as struggling to get a decent finish on the white lower hull of the boat in my profile image.

I always use spray cans but if I'm using 2+ cans of the same colour I use the first cans nozzle
