Update: Working hinges now on my Springer #4 (USACOE stoplog tug).

The pilot house has a working door to see the detailed interior. The lower door (hatch) is hinged because it will remain open because the sound unit is located inside.

Still need to do some more details, the biggest is the structure railing and ladder. Getting there.

JBWeld seems to work well. Rough up the styrene (or ABS surfaces) and remove the dust by vacuuming and wiping with alcohol at least twice. Dry well.

My previous method of a functional door hinge. This is a flush door with vertical pins (pivots). Photo taken at the SSMBC meet yesterday, 7 April, 2024,

Bruced1846, if you can't get styrene tubing small enough, you could super glue a small piece of copper/brass tubing in place. That was my original idea.

Great Idea and video. Now how to do it with Styrene as I don't have a 3D printer and do't know how to use CAD. I have a Cameo 4 cutter and did find out I can cut styreren with it as long as not to thick. set the blade hieght to score just enough to break the piece. I'm going to try your Idea on the hinge using small styrene tubing to attach to edge of my doors.
    Great idea love it

Just love the video Lew. Very well shot and presented, and (excuse the pun) a model for other video presenters. ๐Ÿ˜‰
