Try a mesh bag from onions, they come in various mesh sizes depending on the onions. Price is very reasonable
The sure way to succeed is, just try one more time

I’ve used cheese cloth in the past. Also, a gauze bandage may do as well.

Fishing nets

Over the years, I have made many fishingbtrawl nets, fully rigged so they could be towed and fished behind the boats.
I mainly use different bridal/fashion veil materials from fabric stores. It can be bought in various styles, mesh size and colour.
Bottom rollers can be made from wood dowels, and the top float buoys can come from correct size costume jewelry round beads.
When I made scallop drags, I made brass frames with a chain-mail type wire mesh used in industrial pipe cladding. Crab Pots were framed with brass rod, and clad with produce bag mesh, with a draw-string at the bottom for dumping out the catch.
See photo of black scallop trawler with drag over the side , and the green fish trawlervwith net trawl laying along side of the model.

I’m with Greg! Bridal veil material at the fabric store is a great call. Fish net stockings are also an option te: lobster pots. My wife has all the answers. Although, I don’t always pay attention as much as I should…sometimes.

I used a wedding veil (available at material stores) for my "Helen" kit build. Kind of stiff plastic material. There are some off white colors, but not very realistic looking for a used net. So I claim it is "new". I used some wood beads as floats and some small lead weights for the sinker weights.

Also, I printed out some fish typical of the trawling area in the North English Channel. Printed both sides with a little filler in between to give it some thickness.

Thanks everyone for the replys might have a go at scrunching up the green one that comes with it first if not have to find a bride while she's not looking and chop a bit of her veil ,🤣🤣

Fishing nets

Hello Philuk
To my wife's horror I stole the fly screens and used them for the nets as @Wolle mentioned.
I fitted her with professional fly screens with aluminium frames, which are easy to remove for window cleaning (I'm afraid of that).
Peace in the house was restored!
Never mess with your wife, otherwise she'll really spoil the soup for you. . .

I don't think Joe Brown and The Bruvvers, would be be very happy to hear that statement. The man you are looking for is the Skiffle King Lonnie Donnigan.

Excellent memory Gary, now it comes back to me, point of interest, I had the opportunity of playing Joe Browns Gibson 335 whilst it was in for a refret,
a lovely guitar.

Hi Pete, Joe Brown, (Bless Him,) a really nice down to earth guy, and an excellent very talented musician. His one and only hit record, A picture of you, his excellent rendition of, Sea of heart break, and not forgetting, All things bright and beautiful, played finger style on a twelve string. The good old days gone forever, more is the pity. My knowledge on Fishing nets is not up to much, so I will give that a miss, although I do appreciate the differences between a Drift Net and a Trawl net, as mentioned in previous posts. Regards, Gary.
