Since I've noticed that tugboats are among the most popular vessels on this site, I'm attaching two photos I took recently.
I think you might enjoy them.

Alessandro:
I completely agree with you—our members definitely have a strong attraction to tugboats! I’m one of those tug-guys myself. There’s just something special about these hardworking vessels and the incredible maneuvers they perform to get the job done.
Here are a few photos of my most beloved tugboat project. I managed to obtain the blueprints and began building her from scratch. Unfortunately, other models (and life!) got in the way, so she ended up on the back burner. But someday she will be finished.

Philuck:
Yep—she’s completely scratch-built! I was lucky to have a designer friend and former coworker who helped me clean up the blueprint I found online and scale it up to exactly the size I needed.
I’m planning to post the full build soon, with plenty of detailed photos showing how this tug came together. Can’t wait to share it!

Hi Chugalone.
I also love tugboats, both real ones and scale models.
In my opinion, the secret to their success is (besides their attractive shape) the relative ease of construction and motorization.
RC kits are mostly tugboats or fishing boats. Many started with these models.
However, the most beautiful lines (I'm talking especially about the hull), in my opinion, are those of the last sailing ships (Tea clippers like the Thermopylae, for example) but also the first steam ships (for example, the CSS Alabama or the USS Kearsarge).
Then there are the current warships (destroyers and frigates) and those from World War II (battleships, cruisers, and destroyers).
I also love the vessels, galleons, and carracks from the 1500s to the 19th century.
Only modern cruise ships (the ocean liners were more fascinating) and ferries don't drive me crazy.
This, of course, is my personal taste.
Congratulations on this tugboat; but why don't you create and update your own Harbour section with all the splendid models you've made? I replied to you privately about this; see your messages.
You can instead post those still under construction in the "Bluid Blog" section if you like.

Hi Chum, I took those photos while sailing near these two tugboats.
I searched online and found this about the Millennium.
It seems you're pretty close to the owner; he's Korean.
The internet is amazing; years ago, it would have been much more difficult to get this information and it would have taken much longer.

Alessandro:
That photo looks a lot like my model, at list the structure.
When Zamakina Yards built the Statia Relaint, they also built three more sister ships.
They varied very little but that main structure remained in all of them.
Maybe your picture is one of them.
I had the entire story long time ago when I started building her but now I will have to research it again to know the name of the others.

You guys really got me fired up!
I went straight up to the attic and pulled the model out.
I’m going to do a full photo session of all the scratch-built parts I’ve made so far, and I’ll start posting a building log.
Can’t wait to share the progress!
