Yes, it is nice to have organizations like this within a reasonable distance.
The Legacy of the Lakes Museum is about 90 miles from my house, but about 70 miles of that is an excellent freeway, so it is an easy trip. I encourage any boat lover in or visiting Minnesota to try to visit the Legacy of the Lakes museum.
Minnesota is called the "Land of 10,000 Lakes", and as such, we are blessed with a number of top-quality boat museums and private collections.
I have not been to all of them, but they are all on my "bucket list".

In the past, I have posted pictures of our Edina Model Yacht Club participation in the "Legacy of the Lakes Boat Show". My pictures included our booth and some of the full-sized classic boats in the show.
This annual event is put on by the Legacy of the Lakes Museum and Gardens in Alexandria.
The museum is a rare treasure to have in our state.
This year, in part due to our participation in their Boat Show, they are having a "Miniature Voyages: Toy & Model Boat" Gallery in their museum. I will be having some of my boats on display in this gallery. (Which means I had to commit to giving up those boats May-November this year).
This past weekend, I volunteered to help with their "Museum Wake Up". This involves uncovering and moving boats into place within the museum, hanging outdoor flags and awnings, placing outdoor furniture, dusting and cleaning inside the museum, cleaning boats, and more. It was a busy day, but also fun to see the museum come back from its winter slumber.
The displays are not finished, but I grabbed a couple of pictures of the model/toy boat gallery in its incomplete condition.
I also have pictures of the museum displays of full-sized classic boats from last year. Is there any interest in a separate post with those pics?
