I'm with you George,👍
Just wouldn't look right without all the plates and rivets would it!
Plenty of other prototypes about with planked wooden hulls.
HMS Victory for instance😁
Cheers, Doug 😎

I don't think that is a option Mr Tupin but would Creating plated Steel on a planked hull be a wee bit to much to take on or do you have a cunning plan.

I love to take on a planked job after looking a some of my father lovely work from years ago. Time is a bit short!

Very nice model, I keep looking at this in my local model shop as a possible next project but I really wanted a wooden hull, is it available with this option? AS I'm really a builder not a sailor.

Thanks RNinMunich

Weathering was done with Matt Varnish (Alclad II) mixed with Various shades of pastels and brushed in. Panels were slightly altered colourwise and some weathering also Airbrushed. I did not want to go over the top on it.

Many thanks for the comments!👍

Excellent work George👍
Great weathering, she really looks like she works for a living.
I must learn how to do that.
All my ships are 'as built', all spit and polish🤔

Good Evening all,

just came across the forum so I thought I may add this in. It is the Caldercraft SS Talacre kit. ABS Hull, white Metal fittings and Mostly Wood Superstucture. 3 year build over all and see had her first Maiden Voyage today in the local pond in Fermoy, Cork, Ireland.

She has a Foggy smoke unit in there, Steam Sound,Nav lights and a Mast head light.
