Doug, I was at the Dortmund Model show and had a chat to a Fellow Modeller about the Swastikas on the WWII Luftwaffe Model Aircraft. The Modeller in questions had the swastikas on the tails but was forbidden to display them in Public. He had them covered with a bit of paper which kept blowing off. The funny thing was his Mustang which had about 15 Swastika Kill markings was not covered!! Also in Minatur Wonderland they did not display them there. I wonder if it would be an idea to have them on a model ship in Germany though but presonally I prefer them on, At least people get educated about that they stood for!

Cheers Doug, Thats looks nice. Tempted for a Warship for the next build or Maybe the Caldercraft Schaarhorn as I have been on that ship on a visit to Hamburg. Incidentally I was meant to have a trip on it in May for the Hamburg Port Anniversary but that is now Kaput as they say.

PS I am down in Cork so it is Beamish or Murphys for the local Tipple!

    Ta mate,

The battery is a fore as it will go, it went into dry dock this pm and I did have some ballast in the aft section to took a wee bit of that out to see how that is. Need to fill the test tank shortly!

Ah Don't worry, I have a 12v 2.8MAH already on charge and it fits in quite snugly so it will enable me to shove more ballast up front. I'll stick another piccy up when I manage to get out again...๐Ÿคž

Have you a thread on the Belfast somewhere?

I need to sit down and trawl through this site!

I don't think that is a option Mr Tupin but would Creating plated Steel on a planked hull be a wee bit to much to take on or do you have a cunning plan.

I love to take on a planked job after looking a some of my father lovely work from years ago. Time is a bit short!

    Hell RNM,

Heres a few pictures of the build so it might explain what I am working with.

I am fairly constrained with the mast to enable me to move the Battery Forward to bring the Stern up a bit. Mid you when she is lighter she bobs around a bit too much.

I think I will try a smaller battery and push it up further like you suggest with some lead ballast to assist.

I should of posted these photos first but I usually do things A$$ ways anyhow!!

    regards

    George

Ta, the only weight in the back is the RC equipment, the rear Cabin is pretty heavy so no scope for removing anything from the rear so bit snookered there!

    Thanks RNinMunich

Weathering was done with Matt Varnish (Alclad II) mixed with Various shades of pastels and brushed in. Panels were slightly altered colourwise and some weathering also Airbrushed. I did not want to go over the top on it.

    Many thanks for the comments!๐Ÿ‘

    Good Evening all,

just came across the forum so I thought I may add this in. It is the Caldercraft SS Talacre kit. ABS Hull, white Metal fittings and Mostly Wood Superstucture. 3 year build over all and see had her first Maiden Voyage today in the local pond in Fermoy, Cork, Ireland.

She has a Foggy smoke unit in there, Steam Sound,Nav lights and a Mast head light.

1/48 Scale SS Talacre, 3 year build, Foggy Smoke unit, Sound and lights.

I might use a smaller lighter battery to bring the ship out of the water as she sits a wee bit too low.

    all the best George
