Squishing me eyeballs up to read the blurb in that Precision Petite ad I see it says
"from West Germany".
MINITOOL sounds suspiciously like MINICRAFT. A forerunner perhaps?

"It's not me man, promise, it's rats in the machine!"
Great big hairy, fat, ugly, grey RATS😝😠
Much like the insects that nested amongst the nice warm toobs of the early ENIAC/BRAINIAC computers! Causing shorts/near shorts and unexpected results😮
Thus coining the expression 'Bugs' in computers!😁

Apropos the Minicraft Buffalo drill-
Found this handy gadget several years ago which can hold it, and Dremels &Co, and turn it into a mini lathe😊 I just bolted it to an old blopping chock😁
Here it is in action cleaning up the armature and commutator of my ancient Taycol Target.
During the conversion for forward/reverse driven by a standard brushed ESC.
Cheers, Doug 😎

"Nifty little unit Doug"
Thanks JB. Yeah, it's done me proud over the years, paid for itself a thousand times over.
Several years ago, in a fit of enthusiasm to 'organise' the workshop I just knocked up the box to hold it all and contain the sawdust and off cuts.
As usual workshop didn't stay 'organised' for long🙄
Top of the mini saw blades where it locks into the saw is only 3mm, wide.
The blades themselves were about 5-6cm long, 5mm wide and about 0.5mm thick.
I'm looking for something close which I can grind the top to fit.
Used with the vari-speed PSU it was great for all sorts of materials up to 10mm thick.
Oh well, at least I can still use 2/3 of the set 😉
The circ. saw blades are no problem, some of the Dremel & Co blades fit😊
😎

You can still find the Marx 'perm motors on Ebay.
There's Decaperm here for a fraction of what I shelled out 35 years ago🙄

New ones you can get at Krick-

Re -Apropos old tools JB (no no not U lot - well some of us maybe😉)
Nifty little unit Doug, like my 70s Austrian Emcostar multi machine (which you can't get parts for either) absolutely invaluable for modeling and small jobs'. Bandsaw blades and belts are no problem to have made though. What do the jigsaw blades look like. do you have a pic? Must be something around you can modify.

Re-"Monoperm - Good well made motors."I believe they were made by Marx JB
Wasn't sure who made them Doug, only knew Graupner sold them in the 70s, (probably supplied by Marx) You are right about sedate, (see the vid of the Fairacre at full steam on a 3s), but they will do that for years. Drop of oil on the shaft ends now and again and you're racing (well almost)😁 Thanks for the pic realignment, don't know what happened there. Hadn't even clicked ok and I saw them come up in the screen above. Tres strange😐 Coronaritas😀

Apropos old tools JB (no no not U lot - well some of us maybe😉)
I'm still using a Minicraft Buffalo drill I bought around 1980. Made in W. Germany on the label.
It came with a variable speed PSU which you could plug various gizmos into.
I got the drill (proper 3 jaw chuck no 'orrible collets) a miniature saw table and a teensy weensy jig saw in one package😊. Special deal for AA members as I recall.
That's Automobile Association, NOT the other mob U 'orrible lot!!
All still going strong, just need stripping and re-greasing now and again.
Only snag is ya can't get replacement blades for the jig saw no more😭
Cheers, Doug 😎
(Gettin' on a bit - but still toolin' around😁)
Hmm! An alien pic just sneaked into my editing box! Saw it in time so kicked it out.
Anyone missing a piccy? Could be a TX?

RE -The Sanwa ad jiggled my memory as well Rob
Sanwa were a very good brand in the 70s and 80s, Doug up there with Futaba Sold to an American crowd (now 'Airtronics' ) and are still pretty good from what I've read. Nearly bought one as I have a number of Sanwa servos, but the price of RXs was too much. My first radio was an OS Cougar 2ch in the late 60s, which I had for years until the salt water boat use killed it. Pic of my progression of radios from AM, FM 2.4 (mainly from 1975 till now) also have a another new 9XR stashed away (HK sale $120,- couldn't say no) Dearest one was the Futaba 6EX which is not a patch on the FlySky 9XR or 9x for 1/2 the price. Used the 2 FM 5ch Futaba heli TXs for years (both bought from club member for $100 ea) for planes till I went to 2.4 They all still work 100%. Surprisingly the 4ch Acoms FM set is by far the most ergonomically comfortable TX of the lot.

Still have a Z drive JB - never run that particular boat - a Richard variable speed G/box with Mono super - and P Petite drill like yours passed on to better half complete with boxed variable speed control from Maplins (made by electronics fella at work in UK).

"Monoperm - Good well made motors."
I believe they were made by Marx JB.
Krick do them and the Decaperm now 😊
I still have a 6V Decaperm with gearbox, good 30 years old and still going strong.
Took it out of my Sea Scout during the brushless upgrade.
The 'perm was much too sedate for the Scout. Would be good for tug towing competition though😉
Cheers, Doug 😎
Ps Glad to see your pics are behaving themselves now👍

I had the z drive in the 60s (didn't last) and still have an old monoperm in the 'Fairacre' launch. I think Graupner used to make them (or use them in their kits)- my Graupner Commodore had 2 monoperms. Good well made motors.

Peter,-I still have a 12v Precision Petite 'dremel' type tool with a transformer I was given by my mothers' Dutch boyfriend when I was 12 (1965) Still have the original plastic box and all the different bits and collets. I still use it every time I build something. Made in France from memory (like my first B&D orbital sander I bought around 1972, which is also still going perfectly) Why don't people make things like this these days?, just get rubbish now.

Hi Red.
Don't go to any more trouble with scanners then, a 'photo can be just as good.
Remember. LFFE....Lighting...Framing....Focus.....Exposure
The best you can of each 👍👍 😀
Seeing old ad's like these evoke a lot of nostalgia, certainly for me.
I came across some old copies of Practical Electronics, Wireless World and Studio Sound in my loft, forgot I'd put them up there years ago, spent the rest of the day reading a whole load of them.

Hi RB
problem is scans are normally high resolution for clarity - hence larger files and difficult to upload - some pics are also only part of a page - but will see what i can do at low resolution. Don't have the software to edit them as running them through Corel increases the file size dramatically. The pics are all from 79- 80 so pages are small in the first place - the camera's a good quality Olympus digital SLR type with auto focus.

The Sanwa ad jiggled my memory as well Rob.
The MiniProp looks like the simpler forerunner to my very first RC set.
A 35MHz Irvine Sanwa Conquest FM6. Bought in the early 80s just before I moved here.
Very grand; 6 channel with a row of things to twiddle at the top😊
I were chuffed t' little mintballs😁
Seeing that ad prompted me to dig it out and see if it still works.
Last time I used it was probably 10 years back.
Found it in minutes (Bejeezus tis another miracle!) and was about to stuff an NiMH batt into it when something in the back of my mind sprang to the front and stopped me just in time.
In those days Sanwa plugs had the + and - leads reversed compared to today's virtual standard!!😮 I'll fiddle with that tomorrow and report back.
Red; Keep 'em coming.👍 I guess next you'll find my ancient ESCs with relay reverse and a big TO3 power transistor bolted to the lid of the ally box.
Ran the two 540s in my destroyer for years.
Cheers, Doug😎

That second page with the Mini Propo ad triggered a memory when I noted the address of Irvine Engines at Alston Works, High Barnet.
As a GPO engineer I installed a 4 x 20 PMBX manual switchboard at their premises with lots of extensions all round the place. Quite an interesting job for me as I'd been dabbling with my first RAF Crash Tender but I'd already recently bought my MacGregor R/C system for it so I didn't take up their offer of a discount on some nice proportional kit. Ah well.........
Robbob.

Had one of those in my Sea Scout many decades (😮) ago!

Was still running the Taycol Target in it back then, so no reverse🤔
Saw it kicking about somewhere a few months ago! Thinks .....
Trying to read the 'Think ahead' description sent me eyeballs skewwiffy though🤓🤕
