Likely had you eaten all that was there you may have had to put your feet up for we nap or a big sleep.

I expect all Morrisons will be the same.

Sorry Nerys, didn't mean to upset the apple cart, oh whoops that'll feed a few more.
Sounds like a good value cafe.
Cheers Colin.

Alice was with me, so she just gathered up the remains and put them in the car for later consumption. We wouldn't let good food go to waste after we had bought it.

You should have taken Alice with you, or asked for a doggy bag.

A bit off subject, but I must share this information. It has been our habit after visiting the lake to go to a nearby Morrisons for a snack in their cafe and after today I shall certainly carry on with this. We did our weekly shop in our local Morrisons and found that they were operating an open air cafe. On the suggestion of the staff we opted for the afternoon tea for two for £10, There were five egg sandwiches, four fancy cakes, two scones, two pots of jam , two helpings of clotted cream, two trifles, two mini pork pies, two strawberries and two pots of tea.. We couldn't eat it all!

Really nice boats Nerys. I like the colour scheme of your crash tender. It separates it from the rest.
Must try a sail boat one day. Yours looks quite magnificent with the sails with wind,(what is the correct expression). Super job.

I cannot promise to finish one project before starting another. I know, I tried.

Hi Nerys,
I am very pleased that you have finally got the bottoms of your boats wet after all this time.
They look good on the water, you have done a great job on then.
I am glad you enjoyed your day out at last.

Martin555.
If it looks right it probably is.

Ken, I would have called you today, but we didn't make up our minds to go until about 3pm and I thought you would be busy doing other things. It was the right hand post that held the water. Pleased to hear that Barry people came along to join in. I did wonder if there would be any there today, as it's 'their day'. General public kept their distance on the whole, but one lady came and asked me what sort of boat the Dutchman was. I'm afraid my visits are having to be very much 'when I feel up to it'. I've gone down hill somewhat recently and it's not nice. Do hope, we'll see you soon.

All the best, Nerys

Both boats look to be performing well Nerys,👍 especially as there appears to be quite a choppy
water, get in as much sailing as possible, before the next lockdown arrives!😊

Today at the lake

As it was a nice day and I felt up to it, we decided to have a run to the lake. We took the fire tender which has had a minor wetting and the Dutch Schouw which had not.
I was very pleased with the Dutchman, she sailed nicely, handled well, came about as required, in fact did everything I asked of her. Bearing in mind she was scratch built from a drawing in a book, I felt well rewarded.
The fire tender too came well up to expectations, handled as one would expect, shot across the lake on a plane. I did have the feeling that she needed a slightly larger rudder and will sort that out before we go again.
Next to be tried will be my Swim Headed Stumpy Thames Barge, See next week for the next thrilling instalment.

Cheers, Nerys
