Sir Key
Just finished this over Christmas. All lights work ,the deck is done with timber strips. just to rig up rc.
All the rigging detaches from the masts so I can gain access to the battery n the running gear. Lashings of Lead used as ballast. Talk about top heavy.......
Think I will weather her and get her smoking .....later

Mantua mississippI steam boat
Bought this part built with prop propulsion . but Im converting it to paddle power.
im using a 600 motor with a 50/1 gearbox to power it , but I think I will have to change the setup as the noise is too loud ,even though it will
Eventually it will have a 'Dixi' sound system installed .

This boat looks the biz when its going full tilt , The bow wave looks awesome !!! Twin motors independently controlled ,turning circles pretty good for her size . Saying that , I do need to transport her by a sack cart ....lol

Looks very nice, I'm just about to start building mine, what battery and voltage did you use? Did you bother with a bow thruster. How was it to build

HI , sorry for the late reply , life keeps getting in the way ...lol. She has 12v system installed (she needs a lot of ballast so a 12v battery helps). she is running on 2x MFA motors at 6:1 ratio and 2 x viper marine 20's each running separately.I haven't got round to fitting a bow thruster, A nice boat to build and you can do a little or alot to her , I have seen some with operating cargo doors and cranes,(a bit to involved for me )
She does weigh alot when finished, I purchased a sack cart and manufactured a cradle to transport her.
It would be nice if you open a blog so we can see the build ........Take care..............................................Les

Another crash tender
Built this in early 70's . I couldn't at that time afford rc or an engine so it was a display model until around 2000.
Now, one of 18...............I'm going to have to stop , or get a bigger house ......
