Here is a display model I built it is the late great RMS LUSITANIA scale 1/350 built for show only it took me 7 months to build a one of a kind kit something you don't see everyday built from a kit mostly scratch built did not like some of the kit parts so I made my own.

the main & both jibs are on a line running around the top of the deck onto a drum servo & the transom rudder is push pull on the servo

motor not right ordered new one had to modify the deck to remove the motor
engine sound system not right other wise very pleased with te boat r w angus

Most of the glue had failed and many parts lost. Totally resprayed or hand painted from deck up. Powered by to monoperm motors. Now finished it is up for sale. Now been sold.

Having said that I am pleased with the outcome.
- lesfacPetty Officer 1st ClassThe bit I can't understand is that I was running the boat on 14.4 volts. I did nothing yet it cut out on the lipo at 3.3 volts per cell which would equate to 16.5 volts. if it had been programmed to do this it wouldn't have worked at 14.4 volts. its as if it had auto programmed itself.

There are default settings in most ESCs and they change when you select a different type of battery. if you selected LiPo it recognised 5 cells and auto set a 3.3 v cut off. My latest LiPo 5000 suggests a cut of voltage of 3.4 volts so I suggest you look on the battery cover to see the recommendation. The higher power batteries are very low internal resistance and I believe this is why they suggest a higher cut off.
So yes your observation is correct
