About this boat
And restored another corpse from my closet. It will still be some time before the ship is christened.
The first pictures before the restoration follow. Rest follows later.

So, I've finally started making improvements to all the boats. I began with this Commodore (Michelle). New electronic relays, then also a replacement for the contact to the upper part. Instead of laboriously plugging it in, I now have a perfect magnetic plug, so you can be sure that the connections are correct.
Last was the transmitter and receiver, which is now only intended for this boat. The future heir will receive a complete boat with remote control.
And so it continues with the Sylvie, the pilot boat. One thing at a time. 👍👍👍
Best regards, Michel-C.
You've done a nice job resurrecting your Commodore. I saw another one for sale locally about 12 yrs ago (the blue one) and was very tempted to buy it,- wish I had now. Could have been my old one repainted, as I bought the kit overseas, and they weren't sold here. $$$$$$$$$$
I bought a spare set of shafts in 78 which I finally used about 8yrs ago in my HSL, and some of the left over curtain material I used in a launch restoration about 15yrs ago.

I will replace these two old electronic switch units with new ones at the rear.
I keep having problems with them not switching.

(Isaac is fast asleep 😂😂😂/ american time!)
Here are the promised pictures. Now it's off to our pond for testing at 10.00 am. I've arranged to meet a 90 year old club boss there.
We had a visit from a young film student who is reporting on our club as a piece of work. He will also be there . .
But I'll report back later as soon as the film is finished.
Here are a few pictures . .

Excuse me, it's not my style . . .
I haven't forgotten you, but I had to make some changes to the electrical wiring on the Commodore.
🙈🙈🙈
Unfortunately that fell by the wayside, but now it's my turn again! I'll be there soon! All right?
Best regards Michel-C.
When I'm back home, I'll take some photos of it. .
But until then, please be patient, because my shipyard is on holiday
and my employee (my wife) is with me.
👎👎👎 Calling is useless! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
From holidays, your
Michel-C.
I think that the expected life span of a model boat back then was probably 1-5 years, so no need to beef it up. but, there are exceptions. One of my boats is close to 50 years old, but Graupner used metal parts for my setup

Unfortunately these are all old Graupner parts, but you can still buy leftover grease nipples on EBay.
I took the photos of the Commodore before the renovation.
However, the plastic parts of the couplings were so brittle that I replaced them.
Take a look at the photos . .
I'll be happy to give you more information, but I'm "on the road" at the moment.
(Better said on the way . . My shipyard is closed)
Greetings

What do you mean by your sentence:
"Who makes the drive shafts and pillow blocks, been looking for a source"?
How can I help you with this?
Greetings Michel-C.

Nice things to put the names of family members.
The same applies to this boat.
On 28 April this year we have our baptisms at the club.
"Michelle" will also be christened on this Sunday.
The godmother for this boat is my youngest daughter Michelle. I have named it after her. She asked me to do this, because her siblings already have a boat named after her.
Greetings Michel-C.
PS: And here is my youngest daughter as godmother
Additional note from 3.May 24
The man in the background with the beautiful white beard is wearing a kilt for a simple reason. He has had a leg operation and finds it easier than forcing himself into tight trousers in pain.
Now I realise why Scots wear the cool kilts or am I seeing things wrong?

Now let's move forward, step by step. You never know what kind of hidden damage awaits you, but that's the challenge with things like this. . .
