About this boat

A recent acquisition from a deceased Freind, The boat is an all wood construction she has been identified as a Vic Smeed design of Vivacity copied from an ex converted Mtb she is 61 x17so tad bigger than the standard 54 inch model and is a nice model of a classic design powered by two 6 v batteries, following a mishap with the top of the boat this has ment the top had to be remade and taken the opportunity to fit some interior detail with in and new lights, new halliards been fitted and also working on wireless masts then we are complete.

Following recent trip to a lake back in the workshop for a bigger motor and new speed controller so hopefully this will be it I am getting a reputation for endless failures

Nice work restoring the cabin - I find it very satisfying keeping the old classic power boats alive and working.

I always fancied a Vivacity, but it is one of the few classic model power boats that I have never owned or had in my fleet.

Well dropped the top, in a way. Ill wind as there was woodworm in the roof joists, so we are busy remaking the cabin roof. I am going to do it with a non-boarded top like Colin's version of this boat, While I am at it fit out the inner cabin and install navigation lights

Blimey Stephen, this must weigh quite a bit when ready for the water. Do you have assistance handling and launching it 😉?

As for plans, my dad did his drawings himself when he owned the original, as there were a lot of similar boats of that era, original was built in 1928 somewhere in Norfolk.
I will see if my Mum can remember any further details, but as she's 96 may have lost it.
If you can imagine half of the rear area as another cabin, and 4 portholes on each side of the forward hull, that is how it looked originally when Dad built it.
    Cheers Colin.

according to some research she is a similar type to the boat that Colin our admirals father had in the past and the one that his is drawn from the original boat, how two boats was made that look the same both from the 1960s is the real question?,Stephen Bros boats of Norfolk made boats that looked very Similar to this type

Can you give us the measurements, looks a lot like my Caroline, which is 5ft 3inches long and is based on a 60ft launch my father owned just after ww2,
    Cheers Colin,
