I have put the battery at the fore end to keep it dry and to add weight to stop the boat from taking off at speed!

Ahoy there!
Yes,the Italieri Schnellboot kit is exellent, beatifully moulded parts.I built one usind model weld liquid poly glue and works well.I put three Overlander 2836`s in her,3 separate esc`s and powered by one 11.1v lipo battery. It is all a bit tight in the hull for all this and the wires ,but it all fits in and she goes like s... off a shovel !!.Because she sits fairly low in the water, you have to be careful at fast speed!..The wind got up one day at the lake and caused a lot of rough waves! anyway, she took on water and went down in 10 seconds! and spent 2 months at the bottom of the lake!Eventually we got her back via a fisherman who miraculously cast his line RIGHT OVER THE BOAT!! S he suffered a lot of surface damage but the hull was still perfectly still glued together. Well, after a month or so of renovation work and scratchbuilding, she is back on the water and terrorising the other boats! I love it so much,"Schnelly" now has two more Italieri companions including the new S26 kit !

Ahoy there!
I built the Billings kit last year, the kit is nothing like the one in the film if you build it as per the pic on the box.Best getting the film on dvd and keep pausing the film and take pictures. Then build it as you see it and weather it up good and proper with enamels or acrylics and matt varnish.Sails great and gets lots of attention lakeside.I used a 380 motor and an Mtroniks TIO esc,so I can use a 7.4 Lipo OR NiMh battery, just ables along nicely!

๐ Battery Esc combination for Sea Commander

I am trying to match battery - Esc combination on my Sea Commander.
I have been running a 12v 750 size motor (around 16,000 rpm) with a 320 ESC and utilizing a 4.5a 12v gel battery.
Looking at utilizing two 7.2vx5000a nimh batteries - in series total of 12 cells. Easier to handle and a better fit. I think a little more run time as well.
It looks like this may not work due to the increased voltage. Should i stick with the gel battery and maybe upgrade to a larger capacity or should I be safe with the 320. Thanks.

Hi there,
well,i have built the "victoria" cabin cruiser and the biuld is similar to yours.you have to glue the roof and the floor, together with two side pieces which you might have to make yourself from scrap in order to make one unit so it fits in the big oblong hole in the back half of the boat! and try to make it a very comfortable fit so it`s hard for any water to find it`s way in.i had to work it out too! but it is fine!
