Chug, It looks like true love.
But that's what bugs do to us.

This is how I added a very meaninful cartoon to the gas tank.
I guess everyone during their lifetime had a bug or a family member did.😎

Colin,
I had a great time restoring my bug and always want it a 56’ split window or oval, but the prices where too high.
Now I’m like you, retired from car restoration. I sold my bug on Ebay to the owner of a taxi Company in NY.
With the money made I bought a new Mustang for my son.

Chug, that's a super restoration, fabulous colour scheme.
I had 2 split screen beetles in the late 60's early 70's great to work on but lacking in power, I swapped my last one for a Savage Cortina mk2 with a 2.8 ltr v6. Great power, great fun, but too expensive to use as a daily runaround. Have restored a few old motors in my time, but health issues now mean I have to buy suitable vehicles ready to use.
My main hobby now when health allows is restoring vintage model boats.

Colin...I knew all along you are an old fashion guy that looks around the garage before buying anything for your models, Im 67 and the same way.
I’m very familiar with VW Beetles, I restore an ‘73 and it took me 18 years till finish, and I did it all in my backyard except for the body painting wish I also didt it myself on my place of work painting booth.
As you can see, I integrated my love for the sea on the hood.
Took it to a Bug Show and won Best of Show.
I have recored all of the steps I took yo complet this 1:1 Bettle model.
Here some before/after pictures, let me konw if you want to see more.

Colín, I see you got two water cannons, are both running from one or two water pumps.
I remember a tug I built with one water cannon and I used a Ford windshield watcher water pump.😂

Twiggy, that's sad, so what's the future for the fireboat???.
If you are selling I could be interested.

Given up on powered boats. I stick to yachts nowadays, mainly due to lack of suitable water.

Build it and plot your progress on here, I for one look forward to seeing your progress.
I have an original aerokits 34" version from the 50's and a Norstar 34" version under construction .

Just wondering if there is any interest out there? I have a fibre glass hull for the small size Crash Tender, produced originally by Kingston Mouldings (?) along with a detailed plan, a box of fittings and a set of decals for it. The hull is in pristine condition as are the other bits. It was advertised as being much more accurate to the prototype than the Aerokits kit was and the plan is certaily quite detailed compared to the original kit, which I have in the small and large wooden versions.
