Yes, I am aware that Aerokits made a Swordsman as it was the first ever model boat kit that I made back in the 1960's.
I am currently making two more of them from the Aerokits plans - one as per kit and one with the aft cabin (not a Super Swordsman with the full Huntsman 31 type cabin).

The rear cabin variant of the Swordsman, has its cabin top sitting in-between the cabin sides (combings) unlike the Super Swordsman that has a high cabin top like the Huntsman 31.
The Super Swordsman could also be ordered with two different lengths of longer hull too !

I may make a Super-Swordsman in the future - but there are three types of 33ft Swordsman that are not Super Swordsman.
The raised cab type is like Tireui, the low cab type is as modelled in the Aerokits kit and there is also an open cockpit as well.

Good evening Will, sorry yes hers is the swordsman 33.
I think it originally had the open rear deck area but she converted it to an aft cabin version to match one we hired for a Weekend, about 30 years ago.

Bob, an aft cabin Swordsman is called a Super Swordsman, still 33' in length, but the aft cabin isn't as pronounced as the Huntsman aft cabin version.

A 1/11 scale 34" Huntsman 31 hull from a Precedent kit has exactly the right hull form and dimensions for use as a base for a 1/12 scale Solent Spear.
I have acquired a 34" Precedent g/f hull for this purpose - but I have the 1/12 scale Swordsman (two versions) as new builds and a 1/11 scale Huntsman Sport to finish first!
The long term restoration of my Sterling Chris Craft Corvette has been "put on ice" until the warmer weather comes next year as it is too big to work on in my workshop(shed) with the Fairey hulls needing the bench space!

As far as I know Aerokits never made a 34" Huntsman, but it sounds like yours was built from an early Modav kit before Precedent started making them with a revised inter-lock assembly method.
Maybe your wife's similar model came from a later Huntsman 31 Precedent kit?
If so, then Modav plans would cover them both if any new parts needed to be cut in the future - and I have a set of Modav plans in the post and could be able to help (if needed) in the future.

Colin, the Fairey Marine boats are such a nice design and most of the model versions of them seem to do that justice.
I am trying slowly, to work towards having a model version of a few of the them, Huntress, Huntsman 28, Huntsman 31 and Swordsman 33.
There was also a boat called the Solent Spear, which shared a Fairey designed hull, that is one that I would like to attempt to build a version of at some time in the future.

My wife has a 34" huntsman by aerokits, and mine was produced by Model Avionics. But sadly we don't have the plans anymore. But I think that the 34" versions were all the same. Any repairs needed in the future will be freehand.

I'm pretty much set on the idea that this one will be converted into an aft cockpit/Sport version, seeing as I'm going to have to make another Cabin etc for it anyway. At least the cabin/superstructure on my 47" is intact and undamaged, apart from things like glazing and deatiling.
Oh, the other thing I have GOT TO DO on the 47, is do the waterline properly. That's one of my pet hates with so many Fairey models, usually models of 31's, the waterline isn't straight and I absolutely hate it(personal taste/choice of course)

My guess is that they will be the same - except the Precedent version will have been modified to the inter-locking construction.
You could check for this by looking at the various joints (cab sides to front windscreen joint could be worth a look) for tell-tale signs of this jig type build.
When my copy of the Modav pans arrive it may reveal alternative ways of trying to ID your model for you.

Afternoon Bob, to be honest, I am only presuming that mine is a Precedent kit because it is 34" in length. If the Modav one is also 34" there's as much chance of it being one of theres as a Precedent one.
The cabin/superstructure just sits on top of the deck on this one.
There is a small/narrow strip of timber all the way around, fixed onto the deck and the superstructure sits inside that. There are(were) also two taps glued onto the sides of to screw the top down.
It will definitely be interesting to see if the Modav plans resemble what I have bought.

The 34" Precedent Huntsman 31 was first made by Modav and it was an all wooden kit that came with a full size plan.
A friend has kindly taken his original Modav plan to a print shop and had it copied for me.
It is currently "in the post" but when it arrives I will check to see if Precedent deviated from the "original" or if they only modified the kit to make it an inter-lock construction - but kept the basic shapes the same.
Once they modified the kit to an inter-locking construction they felt no need to include full size plans and replaced them with the step by step assembly drawings that was included in their kits. These were OK when building a new kit - but plans are much better when re-constructing an old model!
I will report back when they arrive to see if they are any help.

It definitely isn't a Fairey Marine based model and if it is only 23" in length, then I'm not sure which Aerkits model it is as it appears to be a small version of a Sea Queen/Sea Commander.

Hi Will,
I should have a copy set of the original 34" Modav Huntsman 31 plans arriving later this week.
When they arrive I will check to see if they have the same front cabin window shape as the smaller 34" Precedent Huntsman 31.
If it does then it may not be much help, but at least it will make a handy 1/11 scale reference from which to work from when making changes to improve the shape.

Hi folks, I have recently added a 34" Precedent Fairey Huntsman to my fleet.
For some reason, the cabin/superstructure has been made too big and not to scale. Plus, it was damaged slightly during delivery (a chance you have to take when these things are so often too far away).
So, I really need either a set of plans, or a parts diagram so that I can I can both repair and also correct the inaccurate parts.
If anyone can help me with the above, I'd be hugely grateful. I don't mind if it's a paper or electronic copy, either would be gratefully received.
I am aware that only the earlier kits came with a plan apparently, the later ones just had a build guide.
