Great detail on all the models. Now I know what can be done. All it takes is a lot of patience.Enjoy seeing what other modellers have achieved.Really enjoyed the video.

So here’s another partially built Riva Aquarama, my second project and Plan B after Ciao Bambina ran into stringer difficulties. I started this one on 14 April 2016, and had only 16 days, none of which meant full time working on the boat but merely an hour or two available some evenings and at weekends, to finish this before a friendly “Boat Race” at Coate Water in Swindon with a few friends. Not much in the way of rules for the event, just bring along an RC boat. I didn’t get it finished in time, and since the event, which is the last picture in the post, I have only been able to spend a few more hours, mostly spent planking small mahogany strips over the hull and fore deck. I will be moving this Project 2 forward in between phases of work on the Sea Commander (Scrumpy 3), which is a kit build and is going well after around 6 hours work so far.

TRIUMPH (CG-52301)
I found out that expended synthetic wine bottle corks serve well as boat fenders. I usually never throw anything away, just in case it has a purpose.
The funny thing is, I have numerous boxes of this stuff, and most of it has been forgotten! Reckon it's time to do some filtering.
HAVE A SAFE RC BOATING DAY!

Good idea for the corks.I also have a few boxes with treasures in them that I have forgotten about. She who is the boss says work around the house has priority.

My Top 10 RC Boats and Ships for 2017
Travelled around quite a few shows this year and caught some great action of some superb models on water. Compiled into one relatively short vid. Filmed in UltraHD / 4K resolution. Looking forward to catching a lot more boat action in 2018. Enjoy !

Unusual and fun
Not your everyday RC boat. I suspect a rowing boat...especially a dual rowing boat takes quite a bit of engineering !

CG-52301 "TRIUMPH"
This is my latest progress on the Barracuda RC Boats 52' MLB, US COAST GUARD "TRIUMPH"CG- 52301. I was up until 0500 this AM attempting to finish sheathing the hull. The deck housings are just about ready for paint. I really don't enjoy covering natural wood, but it's a must to achieve proper detail, I reckon. I'm awaiting 1/8" scribed sheathing for the deck, the fantail semicircle will be 1/16" sheathing, and the outboard perimeter of the deck will be 3/16" light mahogany strips. She's powered by a 775 Johnson-type 6-12v motor turning a 4mm shaft and a 75mm 5-blade Raboesch wheel. The 5-blade isn't OEM, but I reckoned she needed some extra muscle to get to the party in distress.

Here is the Sea Scout Ship Voyageur former 4433. Also Triumph II out of Cape Disappointment and the 44331 from last Saturday's Coast Guardsman Memorial taken next to Cape Disappointment Light

Great seeing your model. I look forward to pictures of her underway. I served at the National Motor Lifeboat School in the '80's (30' SRB's and 44' MLB's) and Station Cape Disappointment (47' and 52' MLB's).

Ships, Subs, Torpedoes and Hovercraft at my local RC show (4K resolution)
One of my favourite RC shows of the year. The Southern Model Show has a bit of everything. The temporary boating pond is used by about 6 clubs who demonstrate their various watercraft to the appreciation of the visiting public.

VolantexRC ATOMIC RTR racing boat
Having reviewed many planes, quads and cars over the last 3 years so it was refreshing to get a boat in the water. Why didn't I do this a long time ago? Bit addictive to say the least. Was surprised how quick this thing was on 3 cells. Lots of tight turns and no hint of it tipping. And a good run time not far off the manufacturers stated 8 minutes. Balance seemed to be quite critical though. The stock 3S2500 in the battery holder had it on step from the go. I dropped in a 3S2200 and despite pushing it to the furthest forward point it would bog down when it lost momentum. Easily solved with a little lead on some velcro next time out. Otherwise really impressed. Zero time to set it up. Nice it has rates dial for steering on the transmitter so can go between hooligan style tight turns and smooth high speed turns. Looking forward to taking it out again.

Nice photos Leonard. As Jarvo said, it's nice to see youngsters and families in the pics as well as the normal "older guys". Keep up the good work. Best wishes, Dave W 😊
