Since doing all that I haven't had chance to do any more due to personnel circumstances , Arthritis in hands is now a problem in doing small detailed things . I did sail the boat but was disappointed as did not get up on plane , needs Brushless motor I think to give more power

Thanks Doug, toilet tissue and PVA glue mixture works well, can form into whatever shape wanted allow 24 hours to dry then paint , well worth messing about with , and cheap too

built sometime in the sixties originally powered by 3.5 cc diesel, then glow motor as in pics OS 20 Max. now converting to Electric. Speed 600BB, Mtroniks Viper 10 ESP, 7.2V 3300ma NIMH. as yet only tank tested seems to have enough power, hope it gets up on the plane.

HI Frank I have built model of jolie brise from plans I got from France made few years ago as static model, I have made uo a false keel that I can fit as and when I get round to making sails, have provision for steering via chords running thro the deck in tubes to the steering servo, as yet no thought as to how to install sail winch as have only small openings where hatches fit. you are right about her being pilot cutter and winning fastnet 3 times, she was however built by Monsieur Paumelle in 1913, I hope at some time to get her on the water.

HI there guys, I am just in process of renewing prop shaft in my 34" fire boat, have for years run it with Ic engine, as not permitted on most sailing areas now Im converting to electric, I have removed the shaft and tube (badly worn from Ic engine use) all I did was firm grip with pliers on the tube twist to dislodge glue and filler then knocked out of the hull from inside.
my intention is to use a speed 600bb for power any comments on power set up would be helpful, my boat weighs in at 2268grams.

dennis I have fitted several cooling tubes for both Ic engines and electric motors found that best position is just behind the prop but to the starboard side within the arc of the prop throw, hope this solves your problem

first time on the water for my latest build, 23" model of british power boat co. 68ft type 3 hants and dorset raf high speed launch,
power is speed 400 driving 35mm three bladed prop, 7.2volt 3300mha nimh planet 2.4 ghz radio,
scratch built, I used scaled down drawings from my aerokits plans then gave the frames more shape to replicate the curves of this boat, the forward section where diaganally planked.
then sides and bottm as normal with sheet ply, deck is teak planks.
I sail on the rotary pool at penzance.

thanks batt44 I have tried 6volts but no good boat wont plane, the prop Im turning is three blader and I believe its 35. the set up Im using is good boat looks good planes but have only short duration,
peter my boat is scaled down from aerokits fire boat with my own drawings for safety boat superstructure,
thinking maybe to build another one as plug to produce a grp hull. or poss build in balsa instead of ply to reduce wieght.
but for all that will try a 7.2 battery of higher mha
cheers chiffs
