Thank you for all of the your wisdom and tips, I will get a retract servo and a snake and give it a try.
Will post some photos when I get them fitted.

I do have a set of plans and if you are taking out the mechanism for lowering the stern, could we do some kind of swap deal?

Thanks for the reply to my post.
I have not got as far as the Vegesack launching and recovery mechanism and I would be interested in the system that you mentioned.
I am having a problem with how to lower the stern of the Adolph Bermpohl, I have fitter a flexible shaft (snake) from an RC aircraft but it will lift the back end of the boat but not lower it.
I do not have the original Graupner part, it was lost a long time ago and I was hoping to find out what other builders of this kit used.

When I painted my two fire boats, 93 & 94 many years ago when this was the fireboat website and fireboat fundays were every year Pete Dimberline told me that the colour was BS639 for both deck and cabin, it was BS639 Matt for the deck and BS639 semi gloss for the cabin sides and Matt white for the cabin roof.

If itβs to run a thumper motor definitely a 11.1v
I tried a 7.2v battery but it was far too slow
My battery is about 150mm long 48mm wide and 25mm deep (see pic) and it sits sideways in my boat behind my motor

Scoop behind the propeller and the water gets pushed through so no need for a pump, mine has been fine and have run it for 10 years.

I have just weighed my 11.1v lipo battery and it weighs 356g and I have weighed a 12V NIMH battery and it weighed 576g so consider the weight when you make your battery choice.
On the flip side, my NIMH batteries are stable and have given me years of use, whereas I am on my second lipo battery as the first blew up like a balloon and had to be scrapped.

The water pick up faces forward and is just behind the propeller so the propeller pushes water into the pickup pipe to cool the ESC and the water cooled engine mount.
The other pipe behind this in the photo is the pick up pipe for the water pump that squirts water out of the two fire monitors.

My hull is 34.5 inch and the running gear is
Hobbywing 90 amp speed controller, Overlander Thumper T3548/05 60Amp outrunner brushless motor, 11.1 V Lipo battery and 45mm three blade prop is my set up and it runs just about perfect.

I have built two 93 and 94
Both have moving and working monitors.
I run them using an Overlander brushless motor on 11.1v lipo battery with a 45mm three blade propeller and get about an hours run time which is very good considering how fast they are on the lake.

I think that I have a plan for the 34.5 inch crash tender from when I built mine.
If I can find it would that be of any help to you?

I will power the receiver from the ESC and hopefully all will be ok.
The battery and receiver were just to test the relay switch before I fitted it into the tug I am building.
Thanks again for all of your advice and wisdom, you have all taught me so much.π

Thank you so much to all of you fellow members who sent a message to help solve my relay problem, I have learnt so much!
The problem was my battery that was powering the receiver, it was below 5v and it would not power the relay on the relay switch to turn the bulb on.
I have fully charged the battery powering the receiver and the relay switch is working fine as you can see from the photos.
Thanks again to everyone who sent a message for all your help.

I am using a toggle on/off switch on my transmitter that works perfectly when a servo is attached, so not the switch.

π RC relay switch

Thank you for all of the wiring advice
I connected the live from my battery to the COM on the relay switch and the live of the bulb to the NO side of the relay switch and then the negative of the bulb back to the battery and the lamp illuminated.
I connected the relay switch to channel 5 on my receiver and a red LED lit up on the relay switch.
I then used the flick switch which is channel 5 on my transmitter and it failed to switch the bulb on or off.
Just to make sure it wasnβt a broken switch on my transmitter, I changed the transmitter for another and the same thing happened.

π RC relay switch

Thank you so much for the replies to my post.
I did an ohms test on the three terminals and got a bleep from the COM and NO so wired a bulb between the two.
When connected to a power supply the switch LED lit up.
The lamp stayed on permanently even when the switch on the transmitter was switched on and off, but the LED on the relay switch went off for a second and then came back on.
I tried again with the live to the COM and the bulb to the NC but this time the bulb remained unlit when the switch on the transmitter was switched on and off.
This happened on both of the relays that I have.
Am I doing something wrong or do you think that these are these switches duff?

Does anyone know how to wire up this switch?
I have two and want to use it to switch on lights and a smoke unit in a tug that I am building.
Any help appreciated.
