Lipo battery meter/checker

Hi Trev, I use the small battery alarms in all my models, (like the type rooky sailor mentioned.)
They can be set to a minimum voltage with the button on the end. You can hear them in the planes about 100m away.

Try this one Dave, it's main purpose is to protect the lipo cell charge when in the boat, different to the one you use at home to check the balance and voltage.

Cheers, Pete😊

jbkiwi,
That looks like a great meter.
However quite a number of my boats are 2S.
I'd need to add a second power source for the meeter ....

So far my collection resembles "The Island of Misfit Toys". I've picked up several boats that are old builds and have been neglected. I'm giving them the TLC they need, hoping to bring them back to their former glory. Once I get enough practice/ experience I intend to take on a full build.

Has out of balance alarm, end of cycle alarm, over voltage alarm etc. Used these for 13 yrs plus the small battery alarms.

Agreed, quite a good reliable monitor, but don't think it has an alarm, not one for putting in your boat when sailing to check for low voltage.

If you want to check the load on your motors, as well as balancing, voltage checking (individual cells as well) these are a great tool if you can find one. I always use these after charging to double check cell balance. Also has a temp port.

mtpurin,
Thank You.
That is the one I have been looking at.
It is good to hear that several of you have experience with it, and like it!

Been using this type of unit for a few years now, no complaints. Very Good.

I have been using lipo's for about eight years now,
and I find these are some of the best, they show you cell voltage and have an alarm when the cell is to low,
this is quite a good deal from an Ebay seller.
Seller might not send to USA but there are plenty on Ebay who will.

Cheers, Pete

Hi Dave,
I don't profess to be very knowledgeable on the subject.
With that in mind I did purchase this on Amazon, seems to work🙄
I went with NIMH in the past because weight wasn't a big consideration, and they are simpler to deal with. The LiPos I have for the 44 I purchased in error, instead of returning them I decided to take the Plunge🔥🔥🔥 (Hopefully not). I already had a charger that can accommodate most Batt Types.

As it seems everything is going Lipo, I have caved in and am starting to convert to Lipo as well.
My question is, what Lipo meter/checker do people recommend? Last night at our local pond, a fellow club member lent me his voltage meter that showed the voltage in each cell. I really like this idea.
Also do you use a low voltage beeper/buzzer, and if so what is a good one to use?
Let the suggestions begin!
