Oh well got todays one wrong. I thought it was called a Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile. I had seen a series on the TV recently Vigil and seen something from that called that. Obviously I have mis recalled what they called them. Even my grammar doesn't sound right.
I'm not too much knowledgeable on these war weapons.

If only the world was all predictable with correct answers and solutions to everything!

Hi Edw, I am afraid it has happened! The V2 rocket used against the Low countries and G.B. were ballistic missiles. About 2600 were launched.

They burned fuel for 60 second and reached 3000 mph and then they were travelling like a bullet on a set trajectory.

At the descent speed they were ahead of their own noise through the air. So it was a bang followed by a whoosh.

I am old enough to remember, and also the first cruise missiles, the V1, which on a couple of occasions I saw in flight as they passed overhead.

The propoganda war worked as they were reported in the media that they had landed north of London. This got back to Germany and the flight times were adjusted so that many fell short of London.

The defence was American radar controlled guns based on the south coast and these on several occasions took out 90% of them in the air. A fighter aircraft would have to more than match the 400 mph speed.

Shooting at them was dangerous but upsetting the airflow either ahead or alongside upset the gyro controls and they crashed to the ground.

I remembered this question from before and I answered ballistic. It was deemed to be incorrect so I went for cruise this time. The correct answer is both. I saw an earlier comment that said that fortunately ballistic missiles had not been used. They can carry conventional as well as nuclear warheads so I am sure that they have been.

The latest generation of Tomahawks can do just about anything. It’s terrifying.

If I remember correctly( doubtful, but...) there was an instance during WW2 when a torpedo was launched and missed it's intended target, but upon reaching shore did damage to defenses. Does that count as well. A torpedo can be considered a missile.
Oh, and yes, ballistic missile count as well...😮😮😮😮😮😮

I didn't have a clue just took a lucky guess, American History wasn't something done at our school as far as I can remember, and Nassau is the only place I can know as being in the Bahamas, I don't know where any of the other places are. I'm not too great on some parts of World geography unless they have to me normal🤔sounding names.

The Battle of Nassau is not regarded as a naval battle but as a raid and landing. The battle of Chesapeake Bay is regarded as the first Naval battle. The Battle of Machias pre-dates both of the battles above so the correct choice should be none of the above.😂

We had a problem with this question before. If a ship is out of the water you can only see the hull, the keel is a structure inside the hull.

With a yacht the weighted keel is below the hull, but not for catamarans etc.

As my score slowly sinks again!!!!

I’ve been a Ford parts man since 1994. The same thing happens to us, especially on the retail counter. Someone will order a left headlight, mirror, trim, whatever’s “handed”. It comes in, it’s the wrong side. They’re looking at the front of the car, ordering a left lamp but they’re looking at the lamp on the cars right side….from the front of the car. I’ve had techs do the same thing….🙄

Not owning a boat apart from my models, I remember port as left- both having 4 letters and therefore starboard has to be right, that's providing you're facing the bow when standing in the stern. Works for me 😊
