Loschkreuzer Wesel Fire Boat
Just completed , not exactly origonal but not too far out. On the pond for the first time today after a rebuld, and very happy with it I am. Graupner kit, Don't know the builder, but when bought it was yellow! it just had to be put back to red. I didn't like the green deck, so it became mid-grey (gloss rubbed down to semi-mat). Powered by 3 Graupner 500 motors. Working radar and lights (worked from a key-fob, not transmitter). Sailed at inverleith Pond, Edinburgh. Home of Edinburgh Model Boat Club.

I have seen this boat operating on the water, it is a work of art, the detail is superb, the speed is I am sure
a very close scale down of the original boat.

Thames Fireboat
Thames Fire Service fire boat, this has twin 540 motors,12v pumps(not working yet) and nav lights.Fibreglass hull with wood decks etc.
The model is quite old and has been a static for some time until it fell into my hands, the name Gamma on the bow.
Looks pretty much scratch built and a very good job whoever did it.
Sails occasionally at Gang Werily Fawley Hants.
This is another work in progress, hopefully we will make it to a fun-day maybe next year.

"Gamma' was a sister ship to the well known Massey Shaw fire boat the latter on which I served during the sixties. Both craft did trojan service during WW ll, Fb. Massey Shaw also took part in the Dunkirk Evacuations. Gamma was retired in the mid 50's, the company that bought her removed her pumps and converted her to a Thames Passenger Cruiser whereafter she plied between Greenwich and Westminster Piers for several years.

WOW! BRAVO ZULU! That's really cool that you gave her life. I have built static kits most of my life, but in 89, I built my 1st RC USCG MLB. I still love statics, but watching a boat (or plane) that I've built, actually perform like the actual craft is wonderful.

Hi,I have now purchased Russels superb model, and it really is a beaut! it has now sailed into its new Port, near Falmouth, Cornwall. As was the real tug, it will be renamed "St.Mawes" and painted in the Falmouth Towage colours, to compliment my 2 other Falmouth Tugs,"St.Denys" and "St.Levan" The real tug, has long since been sold, reverted to her former name of "Ionia" again, and now lies rusting away, at Bideford,in Devon, where there is some talk of her being converted into a floating Cafe ! As for the model,I hope to be able to use it regularly, both for static displays,in aid of the RNLI, or indeed, on the water. THANKS Russ, for keeping your faith in me,I am so proud to own it.

Aerokits Fireboat built by Stephen Ellis
Model Aerokits Fire Tender built up over the last few years. (You may have seen the "Find Bob" competition on this site and incase your wondering, Bob is the character operating the water monitor!

For more useless information you may be interested to know how he got his name? To get straight to the point his head is spring loaded!

This is one of the old aerokits models, it was only partly built when I had it at first (the hull only) but four years on and it works great. The added features are a water pump, which, yes is most definitely more fun! Also a horn from action kit, some say they are not as good as jjc-electronics, but in my experience it is great, I have also added L.E.D. lights shown here and the latest addition is the voice box (as I call it), great fun.

OCEANIC also built by Richard Romanus
Name of the Boat is the OCEANIC. This boat was in my friends garage for 18 years, when I was given it, it needed some T.L.C. the kit from what I can gather was late 60s.

I had to send a way to Germany to get the plans so I could refurbish it, and some of the bits I had to make myself. it is powered by twin monoperm super 5 motors. it has rotating radar, working mast lights, and bow thrusters. Sailed at Cheddar Steam Modals lake.

Happy Hunter built by Pete Munday
This kit model of the seagoing tug Happy Hunter was started in 1983 by a friend of mine. Finding it too difficult, he let it lie until 2006 when he asked my son and I to build it.

After 219 hours work it is finished and sailing. it is powered by two 545 motors and a single speed controller and has 15 working lights, radar, bow thruster and crane, all of which operate. it is a real beauty, and I see Robbe have just brought out a new H H kit.

A very nice build of a great kit by Robbe. I finished mine last June and submitted a build log on our club website: shipmodelers.com for those who are struggling with details of building one.

Hovermarine HM218 built by James Ramsey
This is a model of a sidewall hovercraft fire and rescue boat (Hovermarine HM218) built by James Ramsey.

This started its life as a broken hand vacuum cleaner. Opened up there are two squirrel cage fans. He obtained pictures, sale data, amd small GA drawings from a Hovercraft Museum and was able to scratch build.

It has twin motors operated through mixer and two ESCs, steerable fire monitors plus nav lights, deck lights, flasher, fire pump, siren, rear mast lights and serch lights operated from the transmitter via a Digiserv unit.
