Palaform Griffon 600 - Police

A 600mm long model hovercraft built from a kit using Depron polysyrene. Excellent kits and extremely light, quick on the water and very quick on polished surfaces such as sports halls. Contact Palaform for further info. Just Google them. Use styrofoam paint to decorate otherwise you risk melting the polystyrene. Reflective marking from local police - thanks guys!

Fran Oakey designed the Griffon 600 as a wooden model.
Originally called the MM600 it used 2mm liteply without any lightning holes.
It is heavier than the Depron version but will operate in rougher water and higher wind speeds. Takes the knocks better too.

some magnificent craftsmanship on display ,the one with the carved dragons is incredible doesn't look like they used any wood filler unlike some of us (me) ,well back to the whittling with the laser .

Day at the pool

Vallensbæk Modelskibs Klub has access to a indoor swimming pool once a month during the winter months.

Exuberent DH142 GM32

32 foot Crabber "Exuberent" was built in 1981 and operated out of Dartmouth in Devon, she also spent the winter seasons working out of Weymouth in Dorset. She was returning to Devon from the Dorset coast when she was lost with her skipper. Her name, "Exuberent" is not a spelling mistake, it was spelt this way as there was already a boat of that name registered and it had to be differenced to be included in the Lloyds Register. This model is a tribute to her and her skippers untimely loss.

Klondike

This was just finished by my brother after a four year build. He used plans from the original sternwheeler from Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada. We grew up there so there is a connection. She is seven feet long and the hull is built entirely from popsicle sticks. She is bound for the museum in Whitehorse as a static display.

Fast Patrol Boat

At Ilfracombe pond is Bob Burrows Vintage Model Boat Co kit of the Fast Patrol Boat. Bobs made a nice job of it and has brushless motor with Lipoly batteries. Forward / reverse control was nothing special on maiden voyage and came close to a good sinking !!!

It's nice and fast but doesn't seem to want to turn very well. What is the rudder like is it too big and also how much leading edge has the rudder got. I used to have this sort of trouble and went for a slightly smaller rudder and cut away the leading edge and it solved my problems.
