Many Thanks Biggles for the sail plan from Roger Stollery. I think my Orange Mystery is a mystery no longer. Thanks to all who contributed

    Looks surprisingly stable!

Yes it hardly banks in even on the tightest turn and there's no digging in at all. I put it down the fact that apart from the keel the rear third of the hull is flat.

The original Sea Hornet has a flat transom which I felt ruined the lines so I extended the hull bottom by an inch or so to make the transom raked and may have inadvertently affected the performance (for the better 😑 )

Scratchbuilt Swim Front Thames Lighter/Barge
I guess this is a working vessel?? I wanted something for my TID to tow and after a bit of searching I found a plan for an old Ezi Bild Kit on line and got it enlarged and this is the result.

It takes about 15-20kg of ballast but it tows well.

Here are a couple of pictures one on its maiden "tow"

I remember when they used to race them! They had two men stood at the sharp end with huge sweeps to row them along near Tower Bridge. River men used to be a different breed.

As a lad I used to see this type of barge in use all the time which I why I wanted to make one.

There are a few still in use but no "Lightermen" to row them about anymore since the passing of the East End Docks

Good to see my old boat on water, glad your happy with it. Our pond is beginning to weed up again so it would not have had much use down here!!

She is lit, full set of Nav lights, plus a set of 3 towing lamps either side of the mast, 2 spots lighting the rear deck, bridge lights & partial lighting in the lower cabins.

There are other lights to add yet, i.e. search lights on the bridge roof, foredeck spotlamp And 3 lamps around the superstructure above doors.

Last month she won our clubs 'Torchlight Regatta' trophy, was well chuffed. 😀

Task Force-50, Your, PA. USA FUN FLOAT
Our July, 2016 Fun Float was a great success! The weather was perfect and we had a great number of spectators, met a few new Captains who just came to sail with us and see what we are about! We had up to 6 scale sail boats on the water and several powered boats. We were also experimenting with "on board video" which we are setting to music and commentary. Even the wives enjoyed the day of great weather, a snack bar, walking trails and each others company. There was even talk about relocating our regatta to the "Muddy Run" location.

In my shed (3 Alarms) I would keep it indoors but the wife says NO
