Hi yes memory, I am always wondering what I have forgotten and then I remember something and wonder if that was what I had forgotten?

The result is I frequently find I have 2 of various things, 1 lost the other unopened.

I wonder whether I should follow the precepts of a chap I knew at work who always had a clean desk. We were very envious of that! But on being questioned about it he said that he threw everything away and relied on a follow up phone call to work out what may have been important.

So all I have to do now is decide whether to answer the phone!

Why don't you use dates instead of arithmetic for the '30 days' calculation?
E.g 'current date -30'. Works in Excel and similar spreadsheets.
Working to the absolute second reminds me of Lt.Cmdr. Data in Star Trek, the next generation.😉 "At warp 9 six hours 29 minutes and 37 seconds captain". "Engage!"

The 'cut off' seems to be x.5. So for example 99.49 would appear as 99% and 99.5 (or 99.501?) would be shown as 100%. Must run some tests.
E.g. what were your exact numbers before and after this mysterious 'went down 1%' occurrence Roy?
What I've tried so far doesn't support this theory, but I don't know how many digits after the decimal point Stephens calculation allows.

Ah! Therefore the calculation is made on the responses of the last thirty days, not on the absolute total. I knew it.

I can confirm the calculation if anyone wants to figure out why a number would go down if answering correctly?

Player Average % = Total Correct (last 30 days) / Total Answered (last 30 days) x 100

I can't think of a reason either. The only oddity that I can see might occur is in the 30 day calculation, which isn't whole days, it's to the second... 606024*30

Hi Roy, the percentage of your personal score can mathematically never decrease if the added answer is correct.

Maybe it's a bug in the system used, I can't explain it.
Calculate the percentage of correct answers out of the total number of answers provided is very easy, I would say banal.

Hi Alessandro, It is just my score so I agree not easy to explain and todays question which I got right has me at the same score. I can understand that as another right answer drops out of the calculation.

The country score I ignore. The only way to come top is to have just one entry and that person get all answers correct.

Hi Roy.
Does the 1% reduction refer to the overall calculation of the nation or to your personnel?

If it refers to the nation, then it is normal because you answered well but there could be other compatriots who answered badly and lower the average.

If it's referring to your personal score, then it's actually very strange.
It can't be explained.

I recognised 3 of the names as not slavers and together with galley got it right. Agree with Roy that the score is very unpredictable.

One of my favorites, Cargoes, from John Masefield, it paints a perfect picture in words...
Quinquireme of Nineveh from distant Ophir,

Well, that certainly awoke some pleasant childhood memories of a nonsense poem that rhymes. As the good old-fashioned poetry tended to do, unlike the modern stuff. Hi when sailing in Oz, I / we, moored up overnight in mainly country parks and all mooring buoys were yellow, well a dirty yellow anyway!

I will avoid the question today as it is not clear in definition. Yellow buoys are used for several reasons. Shape of the buoy is also a factor. The probable answer is stay away but this is not in itself an answer.

Good morning everyone.
Normally in many parts of the world, even in Italy, one should keep away from yellow buoys, because they often delimit areas from which one must keep away.
Sometimes, however, they delimit channels and so I became suspicious, so I went by exclusion.
However, I still have a bit of doubt, because they often leave buoys a few dozen meters from the shore to moor boats.
They probably shouldn't be yellow (but they are there).
In the end I chose the most probable one but I understand who chose the second answer.

I've been to Canada 4x, Lake Louise is awesome. Only used the Châteaux facilities once, but had Dinner at Banff Springs Hotel twice.👍😊😊

I visited Lake Louise in 1994 and had coffee in the hotel there.
We were entertained by a lovely lady playing the harp.
But unfortunately we couldn't see the mountains around the lake due to the low cloud and rain.
