Question of the Day?
This is the wise device always enjoy with Moderation and you will be over 100 years before you realise it🤔😊🤔

Question of the Day?
Now you've let the ship's cat out of the gunny sack Roy👎
There's still several hours left for other members to hitch a free ride.☹️
Please, for the further competitive enjoyment of others, refrain from such revealing comments until the next day when a new question has been posted.
Fair winds, Doug 😎

Only once in an emergency was a genoa unfurled very quickly I might add to get us out of a difficult situation. The question posed to my son who is a qualified offshore Yachtmaster said it was an odd set of options. And I would trust him with my life in charge of a yacht!

Then I thought some more (🙄) and second guessed myself.
What do I learn? Go with your gut feeling - if it 'feels' right it probably is!
Maradj biztonságban, Egészségedre (I think🤞), Doug 😎
Question of the Day?
I got it wrong as usual!😬
Question of the Day?

Question of the Day?
I just didn't want to make the correct answer even more blindingly obvious!
There have been a few, shall we say, incautious posts🤔
Best to wait 'til the following day for such comments.😉
Cheers, Doug

Question of the Day?
Would have been a little embarrassing if I had hit the one answer I knew to be wrong.😬

Yes Pilotage does also mean the payment (compensation) for a Pilot Service when entering or exiting difficult anchorages.
The other meaning though has to do with navigation, which of course the local 'Pilots' must master for their area.
BTW: You realise, I trust, that you have let the 'cat out of the bag' for all our members west of the Greenwich date line?? 🙄
But a simple process of elimination should also lead to the correct answer😉
Cheers, Doug😎

PS: The only stupid question is the one that you are too shy to ask!😉

Reckon you're right about the first two infamous 'can't-bes', but I'll bet that most UK/Commonwealth members would have also instantly recognised the third😉 Remnants of which were found off the south coast of UK and preserved at tremendous effort and cost!
This is reflected in the jump of correct answers from the UK.
Anyway, a simple process of elimination should suffice; northern European/US names in Greece in 4BC? I don't think so😉
Cheers, Doug 😎
Question of the Day?
Not sure some thoght it was a joke if you look at the % of wrong answers. At least it should only have been a 50% chance. Two of the answers most should know where they went down.

Even those that use modern technology to produce items for use can have a great impact on the following generations.
So fellow modellers, let's keep sharing what we have learnt with those that wish to learn.
As I am nearing the end of my modelling life, I am happy that my grandson is learning from me and other modellers, and enjoying working on his own projects.
Keep it up for a better modelling world, as modelling has no boundaries.
Cheers Colin.

I only wish Doug! It'll be late retirement if anything. The age keeps going up! Still 30 years left I reckon. I do wonder what this website will be like in 30 years time. Sadly people don't build things themselves as much now, so I do worry it'll become a wasteland. Hopefully not 🤞 I keep fingers crossed younger generations will realise the fun in making instead of buying.
Question of the Day is now live for all!
We've an extensive list of questions taking us into next year... I'll publish past days questions on this thread once we've accumulated some.
Hope everyone enjoys!
Stephen

I like corn, it makes my Jack Daniels….😎
Question of the Day?
My German friends and colleagues have a saying, which translates to-
Even a blind chicken finds a peck of corn!
Go for it🤞

Question of the Day?
Re "I've now figured out a way to get multiple-choice quiz questions very easily), how many of you would enjoy a non-competition based fun question of the day, each day?"
Given the recent upgrades / mods to the site, and now this effort, I'm beginning to wonder if you've taken early retirement, won the lottery or inherited a million or two!
Whatever; more power to your keyboard / tablet / AI interface ...👍
Count me in, also as a 'feedbacker', you do of course realise that (electronically speaking😉) there is both positive and negative feed back😉
When do the 'previews' for feedbackers start?
Cheers, Doug 😎
