Gascoigne
Chief Petty Officer 2nd Class
1 / 2
Moonlight
This free sailing pond yacht has remained a treasured model from childhood. it “escaped” one holiday and sailed out across the bay at Tenby. it was retrieved a mile out to sea by persuading local boatman to pick it up. Hull carved and hollowed from wood. Must be well over 100 years old now. Sails well without rudder fitted.

It really looks treasured and, as usual with your work, very well maintained.

USCG 140' BAY CLASS ICEBREAKING TUG
AFTER RECEIVING LONG-AWAITED GLOBALLY SOURCED COMPONENTS, I DID A PRELIM DRIVELINE INSTALL/DRY FIT ON THE USCG 140'ER. 4MM SHAFT/BOX & RABOESCH 5-BLADE SKEWED WHEEL ARE FROM CORNWALL BOATS (UK), THE MOUNT AND U-JOINT COUPLER ARE BBQ ROUTISSERIE COMPONENTS. BTW-THERE'S A 3/16" ID CYLINDRICAL CENTER SUPPORT BEARING BETWEEN THE COUPLERS. THEY ARE NORMALLY USED ON "FIDGIT SPINNERS"

CG-52301 "TRIUMPH"
This is my latest progress on the Barracuda RC Boats 52' MLB, US COAST GUARD "TRIUMPH"CG- 52301. I was up until 0500 this AM attempting to finish sheathing the hull. The deck housings are just about ready for paint. I really don't enjoy covering natural wood, but it's a must to achieve proper detail, I reckon. I'm awaiting 1/8" scribed sheathing for the deck, the fantail semicircle will be 1/16" sheathing, and the outboard perimeter of the deck will be 3/16" light mahogany strips. She's powered by a 775 Johnson-type 6-12v motor turning a 4mm shaft and a 75mm 5-blade Raboesch wheel. The 5-blade isn't OEM, but I reckoned she needed some extra muscle to get to the party in distress.

Great seeing your model. I look forward to pictures of her underway. I served at the National Motor Lifeboat School in the '80's (30' SRB's and 44' MLB's) and Station Cape Disappointment (47' and 52' MLB's).

i have that same kit i bought just before my daughter was born in 1989. she is undergoing a "fleet rehab & maintenance"
overhaul currently. actually the first true rc watercraft i
started with, after a lifetime of building static models. that kit was of high quality, but has of course been discontinued some years ago. i transferred her from uscg lifesaving station manasquan inlet, new jersey, to uscg lifeboat station ludington, michigan, and changed the hull number from cg-44329 to cg-44345. i served in the uscg in nj, but always wanted to be stationed in ludington, mi. semper paratus!

Fairmile D - MGB623 and MTB741
Both Fairmile D boats 1/24 scale and are scratch built. They have both been about 6 years in operation.
MGB623 is an MGB, flying the Norwegian flag and belongs to a good friend.
Mine is MTB741. it is powered by 2 Graupner Speed 700 12V motors with NiMH batteries. The 6 pdrs and 20mm guns can rotate. it has a balsa planked hull and fibreglass skin. Decks and superstructure are also balsa. Guns are from tinplate and brass.

Excellent boats with great scale performance. I like the Fairmile Ds as they are good subjects for modelling and at static displays they always attract a lot of attention.

ALL THE TOY SAILING BOATS
Anyone know who made these glorious boats, particularly through the sixties and seventies. Countless hours with the children watching them sail round and round till the wind would act in their favour and bring them back to shore. Frequently though, had to wade in with my trousers rolled up to rescue them. Of course the crying would stop then.

CG 40564
Built in 2016, she is a 1:14 scale Dumas 40 ft. UTB, which I did my best to keep natural wood wherever possible. Powered by twin 775 size 12 volt Johnson type motors turning Raboesch 50mm 4-blade brass wheels. I properly illuminated her with Lighthouse 9v LEDs and adorned with a BECC USCG Ensign. I overbuilt her like my Father overbuilt his airplanes.

Thank you for your interest and kind words. She's my pride and joy, and has given me much enjoyment. I believe she's sturdy enough to break 1/2" ice! Here's a few more pics of the CIRCLE 43 NAUTICAL CRAFTWORKS/ILLINIWEK MARINE SCALE SHIPYARD FLEET

You bet. A shocking experience, especially after driving several hours to the destination and spending the big bucks for the hotel next to the beach. But still funny.

Hi Krampus, don't know why but suddenly I thought of your advertising boat, then my eye fell on a digital photo frame and it hit me how to recreate your 'Ad boat' 😉 see attached pics. Temporary mock-up on my Sea Scout.
These digital photo frames run off 5V DC, so attach a simple 5V regulator to the boat's main supply to feed it. A one chip 3 legged item - no rocket science!
Pics you want to display on a USB stick plugged into the photo frame.
set the frame to 'Slideshow' launch the boat and Awaaay you go!
    cheers Doug 😎

    Hi Lads
    I have a Sea Commander with a D3548-1100kv,3S Lipo,60Amp ESC and a 2 blade 40mm CNC prop.
I bought a Precedent Huntsman 34" a few weeks ago and may be running a 3639-1100 or a 3648-1450 instead of the D3548 motor.
As for motor mounts the aluminium angle works well and I just epoxy glue it in place.
