I do have 3d printed masts and did include them in the kit but people said they liked to varnish a wooden mast rather than paint the plastic to look like wood. I will include both from now on. If any body wants a plastic mast just email me. Paul HAKits

I have built a couple of these boats many years ago, the kit uses a plastic hull so I don't think the plans have any hull lines or formers. I will try and find them and check if you wish.

Well my posting on getting the correct size flag has stirred a hornets nest. When i photographed to flags they were the correct way up and they are correct in my file but when i posted them they flipped upside down, anybody know why?
anyway here is the flag on its staff.

Hello, just a little tip for people looking for realistic union flags. I needed a large-ish flag for my slipper launch, at 1/8 scale it needed to be about 4" the larges i could fine in the model shop was about 2" and cost about Β£4.50. I bought it as there was nothing else. I then looked on line and after several searches found small polyester waving flags. The union flag was twice the size I needed, but the seller also sold an Australian flag. so i bought that Β£2.99 and cut the union flag from it. PerfectπŸ˜‰

I found for 1/12 scale lobster pots the blue beard and hair nets are about the right size, the cheap brown ones are too fine. I 3d printed a frame, sprayed it with photo mount adhesive and rapped the net around, but not stretching too tight. when dry i trimmed off any excess and spray painted the whole thing black. hope this helps

To clear some thing up, I spend alot of time in North Norfolk, Blakeney in particular. Moored there is a small open launch called the Teal.(see photos) It has a clinker built hull, I decided to model it but as my kits are designed to be easy to build I adapted it to have a single chine hull (The green boat in photo). A friend of mine liked the model but thought it would look better with a shelter, using the same hull as the Blakeney I added a shelter and so the Morston was born.(Blue boat) It is in no way a scale model but a product of my imagination. Hope this helps.
For people not familiar with Norfolk, Morston is the next village to Blakeney.

I recently bought a couple of cheap jet drive units, about Β£15 each and was wondering what to do with them. A friend suggested i put one in my ski boat, so i shoe horned both of them in.
sorry about the video, i can't turn it round.

These universal boat stands are now available from HAKits.
They are very practical and easy to construct. Show your model the respect it deserves, many modellers just use a tatty piece of ply and a bit of pipe lagging, tidy up the display of your model.

You could have a look at at my kits, not balsa but quality liteply. accurate laser cut parts and step by step instructions. The other good thing is they are economically priced to try and encourage people in to the hobby, (cheap as chips!) if you are interested email me. or go to HAKITS.CO.UK (boat page).

This all sounds very familiar, I don't want to knock your project but be careful. I have experiance of cnc routers and laser cutters, laser cutters put no pressure on the material, its amazing how much side load a milling cutter puts on the material and can rip pieces out of the sheet. In the past i put strips of masking tape on the back of the material then held it down with double sided tape, this will hold pieces in place ( most of the time) Good luck

It is not a huntsman of any type as they had an aft cabin. The Huntress and swordsman had open deck at the stern. there have been lots of kits and plans of this type, what is the length?

Hello, As i said the kits are based on models i built in my youth. Now i am retired i enjoy drawing in cad and the challenge of turning my drawings into models, I thought other people might wish to build my models especially younger builders and so i sell the kits at cost. I take on board your helpful comment and will remove them from my advertising.

Hello fellow modellers, I thought you might be interested in my range of small model boat kits which i have been selling on a well known auction site. I have started with 6 basic liteply kits based on models i built in my youth. They are all computer drawn and laser cut making them accurate and easy to construct. When i designed these kits it was with the thought that maybe they could be built be younger models with help from a more experienced assistant, therefore they are at what i could call pocket money prices ranging from Β£29-Β£39 each. I would be glad to hear fellow modellers thoughts, Thanks.
