I get that feeling of deja vu again, but how many times can you have deja vu? Must be a personal 'Groundhog day'.
I spent my last couple of years at work with bar-codes, scanning and checkouts! Now that was deja vu, with repeats every week.

Been away from the "Question" for a while and was not surprised that I blew it. Arrrgghh!!!!

I saw the wreck of the Sea Farer the next day from in front of the Mouille Point lighthouse.
My cousin was the radio officer on the ship.

As a current Capetonian I recall watching the decay of wrecks like the Romelia. Antipolis and even the much older Sea Farer which stranded in 1966. And there was a few more but I never bothered to get the names. Its much like car crashes. It happens here.

All those ships sunk off the coast of Cape Town as it is the centre of the universe.
This is the humble opinion of an ex-Capetonian
😁
Agreed all👍
Correct answer is 'NONE of the above'. None of the wrecks mentioned were discovered in 1995.
But it's obvious what the AI (🙄) 'thinks' is the correct answer.
A, C and D can be eliminated immediately as they are well known and documented.
But the Whydah Gally sank in a storm in 1717 off Cape Cod. The wreck was discovered in 1984 and positively identified in 1985; ships bell and a brass plate inscribed with the ship's name and maiden voyage date.
Another example of the AI getting it's digital knickers in a twist😮🤔
Cheers All, Doug😎

@Garth. Here is the wikipedia version of your AI story. "A Portuguese slave ship that was wrecked on the rocks off Cape Town, resulting in the deaths of over 200 slaves. The wreck was rediscovered in the 1980s, but was not identified until 2015." As they say. Artificial is a fancy word for fake.

No choices for the July 12th question are correct. Mary Rose was found in 1971, Vasa was found in 1961, Whydah was found in 1984, and for the record the Titanic was found in 1985.
The Sao Jose Paquete was the first documented slave ship, the White Lion was the first to bring slaves to the US.
Unless the question is a strangely worded trick question, my vote is none of the above.
(Yes, these details are from a Google search. Because I knew none of them were correct, but wanted to verify my thoughts).

So far my collection resembles "The Island of Misfit Toys". I've picked up several boats that are old builds and have been neglected. I'm giving them the TLC they need, hoping to bring them back to their former glory. Once I get enough practice/ experience I intend to take on a full build.
My AI answer was ( The first identified slave shipwreck, discovered in 1995, is the São José Paquete de Africa. This Portuguese ship sank off the coast of Cape Town, South Africa, in 1794 while transporting enslaved Africans to Brazil. Its discovery provided crucial insights into the transatlantic slave trade) Maybe the ship had two names.😋 Canada is up to 97% good for us.

My daughter works out every day, and is one tough gal. But I don't think I'd dare call her a "power wench".

Got to see the Bounty replica used in movie. When I lived in Puerto Rico it was in port a lot. The lady that ran the crew thru a friend introduced me to her. I got a tour. She was on it up until it sank. Then she moved to Boston n lived on a big sailboat. Last heard she had 2 boats n sold them after getting married n lives on dry land in Masssachusetts. The ship was amazing but had all the modern nav gear n bathrooms. Auxiliary power too. I still can’t figure how they move the sails to get it all working. They did have power wenches disguised

Oh yay oh jay! Now the questions and options are getting infantile as well🙄
'The Trouble with Tribbles'! I'm sure that most of us 'old codgers' will recognise that from Star Trek (TOS).😉
The other options are poetically prehistoric.😁

I wasn't sure because Titanic wasn't mentioned.
I've been on a replica also, yes pretty small. Bet those pilgrims were happy to land and get off that thing.
BTW: Sadly it would seem that some 3% of our participating members need their 'Bumps' feeling🙄
Reckon the last car with an 'outboard' motor was probably the one that dear Mercedes used for her 'Worlds First' motorised joyride!

Seems to me that the AI explanations are more than somewhat infantile!🙄
Like you might get from a precocious 5 year old.
God (whoever HE/SHE turns out to be) help us if it ever grows up🤔

The famed, in the U.S., Monterey Clipper had it’s design origin in the felucca.

Interestingly its also called a screw conveyor and a auger. We used it extensively in the fish meal production processes to pump raw fish from the boat to the cookers. In Woliie's photos you will also see a dewatering reel. Water and solids are separated by pumping it through a screw which has a sieve on the outer tube.

I went there this morning before work and took a few pictures.
