I simply love constructing these old craft from a real bygone era.
Presently underway are more cruisers I am working on, Cirrus and Western Light.
- NorfolkBroadsAble SeamanMany thanks Richard indeed. Yes, decades of knowing these craft in real form and the designers and builders right back has hugely helped us of course gain such a first class reputation of precise detail. However, like all these things, such has not come without heartache, where in running up a one year purposeful trial as a manufacturing business for these, I simply failed in being far too much of a perfectionist, and this took too long in getting every kit out. Although we perfected the trial run on time for every customer, we realised it could not continue without mass stress for a sustained period of years, and so sadly had to pull the plug on the purposeful trial, much to the disappointment of many potential customers. Broke our hearts too, but then, what were we to do, our pride told us to pull back before running up a full production. Many thanks Richard indeed. - grahammilehamRecruitJust wondered if you had come across the Sanderling cabin cruisers build by sander brothers of Readham. I hired one in 1990 for a week on the broads. I don’t think the brothers are now in the business anymore.Beautiful little boat.Just wondered if you had come across the Sanderling cabin cruisers build by sander brothers of Readham. Actually used to patrol costal area here , also used in coast guard.
The class name is padma class patrol vessel, designed and made by BN.
Tried to make its rc version in 1:110th scale(I'm not great like you guys so please help me do better and suggest me where I can do better). Length 45cm, beam 7cm. Powered with dual 180.
The only thing I'm suffering is motor shaft connectoŕ. Those two universal joints I bought are not good enough for smooth rotation. They vibrates. So I used silicone tubes. Now I'm using latex rubber tubes .
Any suggestions or plan what I can use in peace!😆
This model uses a Vintage Ripmax Bullet 30 DC motor that can run on 24v here it is only on 14.4v it becomes lively on 16.8v.

To my surprise at home I found that it had a Bullet 30 motor installed these motors were the top drawer motor of early fast electrics in the early 1980's and its the only one I've ever seen, it can run on 24v and pull around 15A giving 300w not bad for a brushed motor.
due to the power of this motor I have modified the hull under the water line with turn fins and trim tabs to reduce torque roll and improve turning stability, the underside is incorrect already as it only has one propshaft, where the original had two and I believe that both props turned in the same direction.
The Pictures here show some of the work in progress I have remounted the motor and added a speed controller rated at 24v
I have remade the stern compartment and rudder gear under it.
I have blocked windows and foamed the front half of the boat.
made missing parts and repaired delaminating ply.
Note old ply is not as good as modern, the glue is not as water resistant.
Have painted the hull and have just ordered the decals from Cornwall model Boats :-https://www.cornwallmodelboats.co.uk/cgi-bin/sh000001.pl?WD=hose%20fire&PN=becc_fire_tender%2ehtml#aB_2dFTS1_2e32
The 34in is 1/16 scale
Fitting can be brought but many are cast white metal and can add weight to the boat, I have made two water cannons and plan to buy plastic fittings from this site.
This has turned out to be a task that is difficult to assess how much effort and money to spend on a hull that has been built by someone else (say no more).
Have just finished the steps for the stern compartment.
Painted and now for the test run.
the Bullet 30 motor ran well between 14 and 18v,
The Vosper hull is built from balsawood and fibreglass. The upper deck and superstructure is from balsawood. The weapons and fittings are from brass, aluminium and plastic. The 20mm and gunner can rotate.
Though built in the 1950's this boat is still in use on the Norfolk Broads and can be hired out.
- johnfastboatAble SeamanI think with two beefy out runners, 42mm props on 14.8 lipos it should be a very powerful boat. However I like big boats properly engineered. Well done. 😀I think with two beefy out runners, 42mm props on 14.8 lipos it should be a very powerful boat. However I like big boats properly engineered. Well done. 😀

This is my first attempt at stick building a boat. it's a DUMAS (model 1203) 33" 1:16 scale Coast Guard lifeboat. Am learning OTJ (on the job)....
The kit is approx 6-7 years old found it on EBAY for $77 USD. Nice wintertime project.
