Hi Model boat enthusiasts,
This is a photo of almost completed 2 model boats I have almost completed. The Sea Queen 50 years old find. it was found in an attic in a kit. The kit was in a very poor state and most of the timberwork had to be glued back together or remade. I had no plans for it and had to source a copy from the Model Boat website. it is a very nice model. The pilot boat was scratch built and sails very nicely. I have been building boats for about 30years and have built over 25 boats, scratch built all of them. I have included photos of some of my boats.

This is Maxine, a 1960' aerokit Sea Queen 😊 She has been stripped down, hull repaired along with top sides. New brushless motor/lipos etc. Goes quite well and pretty stable as you can see.She is sailed on Wibsey Park lake in Sunny Bradford.

Hi Ned, Welcome aboard 👍
On my Sea Scout (little brother of the Sea Queen) I used silicon sealant (a la bathroom!) and a small brass screw in each corner. it had to be good cos I had the RX, RX battery and rudder servo tucked in there!
My boat was also started by Dad in the sixties. He had it free running with a Taycol Target and wet (very!) 6V lead acid cells. I upgraded to RC and Decaperm motor about 25 years ago and am currently restoring and converting to brushless 😲
Happy boating, Cheers Doug 😎

Wow great bit of video, she performs very well on the water and turns seem to be very stable. Nice one. I have a Sea Queen I have got to renovate. What motor are you running in her please.

I built this sea Queen ,aka Blue Streak, from a Jotika kit. But found the motor did not give the performance I expected. So the motor was replaced with an Overland T4250 Brushless motor with Fusion Hawk 60amp ESC fed by an Overland 14.8 4s 4000Ma Lipo battery. The performance is greatly enhanced, Boat is finished in white with blue cabin tops and a large blue streak down each side. And shows the Australian flag.

this model was made from a set of mouldings purchased from the internet, they were for a 1944 Birch class empire tug, the one I chose to make was the Empire Walter, later re named Sea Queen and she worked in the Bristol and Avon area.

I am restoring a tug that is named "Avon Queen" she is a Birch class Empire tug.I have looked for her history, but only came up with Sea Queen. I wondered if you knew if there was an Avon Queen and what her empire name was. The model I have originally had a live steam engine in it, taken out before I bought it. She is 1.6m (5'3") long 1/20th scale.

Roger.com, I am not so sure about being less detail on a Norfolk Broads Cruiser. I have a small 21ft fibre glass hulled boat in Potter Heigham on the Broads. But when you see the older wooden Broads Cruisers they have lots of detail especially the ones that get cared for as they should being wooden built. Some of them are so beautiful and well varnished polished brass, Chrome fittings and well groomed. if I could afford a wooden cruiser and be able to keep her in the fashion she should be kept then I would. But if I win the lottery then I will have one. Even the old wooden sailing yacht's are kept in wonderful condition and lots of detail brass etc.
